JOB opportunities high in India or foriegn. Why?
  • Rating: Unrated

Posted By: kandasamy doss

  • Job opportunities are high in India because now India is developed so many mnc are open their branch in India. Here they invest low price then get high profit. So they open new branches from that we have lot of job opportunities have been produced

Posted By: keerthi

  • Yes job opportunities are more in India, which is developing now. Many foreign companies are Opening their branches in India in the name of BPO's and CALL CENTERS.

  • The main reason why these foreign companies are opting India is due to the simple fact that India has many graduates and unemployed youth who are ready to accept a job with less pay then their foreign counter parts. Due to which they will gain more profits.

Posted By: sowbhagyavathi

  • As India is a developing country, the Job opportunities in India are more.

  • India has large number of graduates and postgraduates in each and every field such as science and technology, IT sector, arts, etc.

  • As the graduates and postgraduates in India are ready to expose themselves to the world of competition, they are ready to work for less pay. The main reason for that is, the people want experience and exposure to different environment where the chance of learning several things is more.

  • Money matters less for people who have the capacity to prove themselves. The foreign companies in the present that's openings their branches in India because they knew that Indians are hardworking and they have the zeal to accept and work for the upliftment of their country

Posted By: meenakshisekar

  • No job opportunities are not only more in India but they are also more in other countries like china, Japan etc.reason is now Chinese. Japanese they are also equally competent to u and us know why china has seen a drastic change in their development? B’s they work even harder and smarter than us. Even more people and more opportunities are there in India do u known that we are also ranking high in unemployment?

Posted By: keerthi

  • As meena said As far as job opportunities are considered they are more in china and Japan but they don't give a chance to foreigners as in US.

  • If we consider the opportunities for Indians I think there are more opportunities in India than in US or any other country abroad as most of the mnc's are opening their branches here.

Posted By: arivazhaganit

Hi everybody...

Now a day’s job opportunity is more than any other country in this world. But problem is ratio of job opportunities to job seeker in our country is very less compare to US, Europe countries because of huge population of our country. Because of BPO jobs, it alleviates pain of lot of job seekers in our country. Major positive ability of our Indian is good in technical knowledge, fluent in English as well as ready to work for less salary. SO than have been with standing in this world.

Posted By: biranchi

HI FRIENDS

Yah as u said job opportunity are more in India. There are so many reasons for this. As India is a developing country here every body wants to expose his knowledge and here cost is less, people are ready to work in less price also. So many companies are ready to open their branch in India. And as compare to other country Indians are more fluent English speaking. One more thing is if we see other than software, India is full of natural recourses so foreign industrialists want use there new technology here. So no of mncs are increasing.

Posted By: rajeev_kranjan

In my opinion job opportunities are not high in India with respect to foreign countries especially Europe and US. In India there are huge number of unemployed educated person but the employment is very less. Current operating companies in India can't even sufficient to accommodate the students who have great educational qualification. But now India's growth rate (sensex crossed 10000) is on pick, so we can expect here more opportunities in near future....

Posted By: raghu

Hello,

Job opportunities are increasing in INDIA compare to China, Philippines and other foreign countries. The reason is quite simple. The MNC's are getting the Quality output at cheaper cost compare to other countries. And Indians are technically sound. So if you really have the talent and ready to work hard, there are many opportunities in INDIA compare to other countries.

Posted By: cishawsharma

Well to start with...

In my opinion its a quite easy yet difficult to answer.

Opportunity to a job raises many questions such as which type of job and in which field?

Job opportunities in every country depends upon many factors such as

Tourism, technology, business, agriculture. And it also depends upon fast growing and economically favorable field. And the one and only fast growing field and economically favorable field is software in India.

Coming to the point yes India is having more job opportunities in particular areas like technology specially in software field and hardware field and bpo's. And I hope even other fields have equal opportunities but difficult to get into (like govt jobs, coz there will be many criteria to pass through). And fortunately in software field there will be not criteria except academic. In my opinion opportunity of jobs depend upon the particular favorable factors in that country.

For example consider Switzerland, Swiss people concentrate more on tourism and getting into such jobs people feel it as opportunity there. But in our country we don't concentrate on tourism much.

So job opportunity in tourism is very less compared to other countries.
Posted By: keerthi

Yes job opportunities in tourism r less when compared to others. But we have major opportunities in software companies and BPO's.

And most important is we must feel proud about our great achievement of the hardware industry, which is going to show its form in about 2 or 3 years in our own capital Hyderabad. And by this there will plenty of opportunities of even hardware professionals who have comparatively less opportunities till date.

So guys we need not go to any other countries in search of jobs in future. Lets hope other countries like US will have to come to India in search of jobs.

Posted By: cishawsharma

I totally agree with you keerthi my point not to focus on tourism but every country has its loopholes and positive points, lets improve in the aspect, which is more favorable to us.

That’s all.

Should the public sector be privatized?

  • Rating: Unrated

Posted By: meenakshisekar

Yes of course privatization of public sectors leads to some healthy changes in an org. b's when you take public sectors u can find some slackness (or a little bit) delay in their services. But in case of private since service is there first and foremost duty they act rapidly.

Posted By: ssrkraju

Hi All,

Privatization of public sector. Lot depends of which sector we are talking about. Let me clarify few doubts in the primary stage. Can we expect all private hospitals in our cities in our town which do not have an entry for poor people, can we have only private sector telephone companies, can we have private companies have complete control on oil reserves, can we have all transport be provided by private sector and RTC vanishes, can we expect an private sector to take care of our defense. In the same way we cant expect the government to set up an IT industry on its own, we cant expect them to handle all the load of flight transport. My point over here is both are not mutually exclusive. We need to accept the fact that both are here to stay and we cannot make it without one. They do have their importance and we need to deal this issue according to the context.

There are some strategic sectors, which need to be under control of Indian government like oil/gas sector. The subsidy we enjoy will be never provided by a private sector. The government in this case helps its citizens to a great extent and making them available to its citizens. The ration card system is a great boon to the poor. Coming to some sectors like steel and mobile where both are present and a healthy competition among them always benefits the customers. It is also a point to be noted that Government itself cannot take the complete load just like it cant take the load of all flight customers where private sector is playing its helping role. Then there is education sector, which also has good competition with CBSE matching with any education system of either state syllabus or the schools coming up with their own syllabus. The public transport sector too is a mix of public and private and here you can see a striking difference. You can easily differentiate the profit motive of private personal whose salaries depend on the profit to their owner. In autos you can see some 6-8 people are dumped then starts the engine. I do accept that some services are best in private sector as they fear their job loss and their owners do get the best out of them by making them to work more no. Of hours.

The lazy mindset of some public sector could be taken into account to convert it to a private sector. I would like to suggest that counseling sessions for these to have a better future by working for the organization would help it to grow better and be under the public sector umbrella. We can take some examples by some of our previous strategies, which helped us to renovate dull companies, which lacked in performance. If a private individual is going to buy the company and could change its fortunes, why can't the public government do it? It can. Running away from a trouble is not a solution. Facing it head-on will produce better results.

Posted By: mallika_pillai

I totally agree with Mr.ssrkraju.... As he said it depends on which sector we are talking about. And both have a different importance of their own. Privatization has its own proms and public sector have their own. I think both needs to be there as far today’s development is concerned.

Taking the view it is right that the work at public sectors is not working the way it should. But if everyone understands the responsibilities then it can also work the same way as private sectors. Again I think for some sectors it is ok otherwise it should be done by the respected ones itself...

Love marriage/Arranged marriage.

  • Rating: Unrated

  • Posted By: pooja

Hello friends,

According to me arrange marriages are better if we consider there will be 99% success in arrange marriages there will be more mutual understanding in between both of them. And the foremost thing is that there will be support of our parents. Most of the love marriages are unsuccessful so according to me arrange marriages are best.

Posted By: meenakshisekar

What pooja says is absolutely correct

When u get a new bond through arranged marriage naturally there arises a demand for mutual understanding b's when u are entirely new to a group of people u will try to know people their likes, dislikes hence u will become more flexible and u could win their hearts so that in a difficult situation u'll get everybody’s help.

Posted By: sowmya571

Hello

Well success of BOTH marriages depends on our self basically. If u finds a person whom u can feel comfortable to live with, be happy and secure in their presence then whatever love/arranged our marriage will be successful

If LOVE marriage we tend to know ab them before itself and then start thinking of getting married. Well Love marriages fail because people tend to find faults in others /lack of understanding. Whatever but there also cases where relationship is maintained in wonderful manner

In arranged marriage it becomes an obligation to live with the person. Adjust with them thru out our life n parents do help /guide us if therez a problem. Thatz the major difference

Well in both cases for a relationship to be healthy Understanding /Love /affection/ adjustment/ Responsibility is necessary ... above all

Parents who don’t agree for love marriage basically want us to be in better position /live happily. Considering /respecting them is also equally important.

Posted By: deeptisehgal

Hi all

I feel in a love marriage you enter with a lot of expectations where these expectations have already reached a level and then you start expecting more than that. But in an arranged marriage you have the expectations but there is no particular level already set. You set those levels after marriage.

I would rather say that there is no guarantee for any type of marrige. Even an arranged marriage might fail and love marriage be a hit or vice versa.

According to me what one needs to be focused upon is the level of understanding between the two whether it be a love marriage or arranged marrige. Of course other parameters do affect apart understanding. It should be a matter of personal choice rather than a matter of debate.

Posted By: vikas_lion123

As pooja and meenakshisekar said that love marriages don't last long and arranged marriages last longer I don't agree to this statement rather I would like to say that the success of a marriage is strongly dependent on the mutual understanding between the two persons as sowmya571 said, it depends on the compatibility of the two persons how well they can adjust with each other how much do they care about each other.

What pooja and meenakshiskar is saying is based on the success of the arranged marriages is because of what seems from the outside that they are together, but in many cases its only the mutual adjustment and because they are ready from the first day to adjust with the other person and not understand them and end up there life in doing so. The most important aspect is here to be compatible as this enhances the outcome

And lastly we have our responsibilities towards our parents so the marriage should be agreed by them and the compatibility of two persons who have to spend the life together should also be kept in mind,u can also consider this compatibility as love also.

So what I can conclude on my side is that those one, which is love, and are then arranged

Posted By: hi2uday

Hi Frnds

Well deeptisehgal what she said is entirely right because we cannot conclude love marriage is good and arranged marriage is fail or vice versa, this is mainly depends upon the understanding b/w eachother.how can we say that love marriage is leads to fail this is only because of the misunderstanding, even arranged marriages may also leads to fail when there is misunderstanding and also

vikas_lion123 he/she said

"We have our responsibilities towards our parents so the marriage should be agreed by them and the compatibility of two persons who have to spend the life together should also be kept in mind, u can also consider this compatibility as love also."

Ya I support this point b4 taking any decision that must be agreed by our parents.

At last my conclusion is whether it is a love/arranged marriage it depends on urs that will not affect on ur parents /children’s in future.

Posted By: keerthi

Hello every body,

In my view there are advantages and disadvantages for both love and arranged marriages.

But there are many cases where love marriages are failed when compared to arranged due to lack of trust, understanding between them and more over due to lack of support from their parents whenever a dispute arises.

One more point here to note is now a days in most of the cases love marriages are between the people of same age group, as a result naturally ego problems arises which is one of the important causes for their failure.

At the same time there are many cases where love marriages became a great success. So as soumya and vikas said the success or failure merely depends on their hands.

Hence in my opinion it is better to opt for love marriage only if the both the persons have common ideas, common opinions and good understanding about each other and most important is their parent’s support.

Infact going against parents is nothing but one's selfishness.

Posted By: suriya

Hai I always support for love marriages. Because having a better half in out life is not a matter of buying vegetables in markets. Because it is going to be our everlasting thing for our life. So without knowing our life partner, we cant start our married life properly. It will take time to understand our partner. But I won’t support for some SILLY ONESIGHT LOVES. Because that will not be a good love and that will be a love on infatuation only. So a good love will blossom only when U will be a first friend and then lover.

Posted By: manoj

Good afternoon to one and all,

In my opinion love marriage is THE BEST. Before knowing to each other how would they marry? Before the marriage they both come to know each other very well. (Here they both must b sincere in love). In these cases no matter of ego feelings.

They know each other's likes, dislikes.

They have clear idea about their future.

Most of the love marriages are held in now-a- days in the age of 25 to 30. They both are well matured in this time, and they are in a position to take right decision.

So love marriages are THE BEST.

Posted By: rajkannan

Good Even all my friends

I appreciate ur views. I would like adding some extra color to the existing things. Right now we are all respect our family, only few members can follow their own plan. Most of us are following on the basis of our family. My suggestion arranged marriage is best coz our family fully involved in that.

Thanks for this oppournity

Posted By: meera

I prefer love with arranged marriage. In love marriage there is a chance for them to know abt each other their likes, dislikes etc. Bcos life is not a game to handover it to an unknown person. Most of the marriages end up in divorce due to misunderstanding. In love marriage we can know abt our better half well. Most love marriage is intercast marriage so it strengthens the relationship among people with various castes. The main point is by love marriage, dowry culture can be entirely destroyed from its root.

Posted By: jksaviyo

Hi,

Why we couldn’t think like- fist LOVE and understand, then arrange the marriage in our traditional way.

Don’t miss use this flavor ‘LOVE and understand’ for sex.

Please don’t forget one thing; Indian moral is wonderful in the world. That we will realize it when we will mess with different country’s culture.

Posted By: vikram_ls

Its as good as asking for suicide is Better or Murder.

But I would like to go with arranged marriage. Bcoz if u loves a girl and want to marry her against the family, then u will loose the 3-5 members love in place of single love. i.e. with ur girl.

Posted By: jayanth

Hai everybody,

I would always vote to love marriage bcoz; it’s you and that girl who are going to be involved in that relationship. None other than the two will be able to understand the feelings, so it’s better to go by ur wish. I believe that we live only once, so we must live on our own feelings. So I conclude that love marriage is the smart decision, but u must make others accept it i.e.) make Ur parents accept it.

Hi, friends

I am giving support to Arranged Marriags.bcaz our parents bought up us with what we want, i.e they gave every thing to us. They know what personality we r.they only know what we like n what we doesn't like n how we behave at that situation.thy only will bring good husband to us.

Friend r lover stay with us for some time. Every body behaves well for some time. At that time they don’t under stand what we r, every one looking good by talking for some time.

If they marry in future thy stay together at that time once behavior may no like by other one. They r going for divorce.

Our parent sees family background, so we can estimate behavior of other.

Posted By: cishawsharma

Well

In my opinion I feel that mutual understanding and maturity level of both the partners makes a blissful marriage.

I don’t think we can predict a human being quality or mentality in a year or two. I wonder if we do PhD on human beings that will be a fiasco.

So knowing a person for two or three years and doesn’t mean that we know everything about that person. At the same time marrying a person with parents wish and will also may end up in divorce.

So I want to conclude it by giving a simple suggestion that is

Mutual respect, not pointing out the loopholes of each other, not having selfish mentality, not having any prejudices, and ego will make a successful marriage.

Or just learn or imitate our elders.

Effect Of Western Culture On Indian Youth

How there is head and tail for a coin, there is both positive and negative impact of western culture on India and especially on Indian youth,

In past in India men were our traditional dresses, but now it is entirely changed, now the Indian youth moving with jeans, t-shirts, minis, micros, etc., here we can proud of that western culture, it bringing us with the fast moving world.

But when we consider the pubs, it is the thing to be strictly punished. In pubs both men and women are in drastic stage, by taking drugs, it should be punished. And we need to felt sorry for that.

And there r many things to be taken from the western culture.

Posted By: navedkhan05

THERE HAS BEEN AN ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF EFFECT OF WESTERN CULTURE ON US. IT CAN BE EASILY FELT BY THE FOOD, ATTIRE AND WAY OF LIVING OF CITIZENS.SPECIALLY ON DRESSES IT HAS MADE ADVERSE EFFECTS. SO IT IS NOT GOOD FOR OUR CULTURE.OUR YOUNG GIRLS ARE WEARING SKIRTS, MICROS, AND MINIS ETC. WHICH EXCITES THE BOYS LEADING TO SOME SERIOUS CRIMES SUCH AS RAPE ETC. BUT ON THE FLIPPER SIDE THE WAYS OF LIVING HAS BEEN GREATLY ENHANCED WHICH IS GOOD FOR SUCCESS AND GROWTH OF THE COUNTRY AND HELPFUL FOR IT IN HEADING TOWARDS SUPER POWER AHEAD OF USA. SO I FEEL THAT IT HAS BOTH GOOD AND BAD EFFECTS

Posted By: ulty

I Strongly believe that there is a substantial influence of western culture on Indian youths. Mere mention of the word 'India' signifies a place of cultural heritage as well as diversity. But the cultural legacy that we are showing to the whole world is becoming a thing of history in metropolitan cities.

On one side we enjoy our so-called rich culture and really admire it but on the other side we find discotheques full of young guys and girls. Secondly, Joint family tradition; one of the biggest assets of India is now vanishing under the shadow of the so-called western culture. Nuclear families are taking place of many years' old values. Youth of today is more interested in their privacy rather than enjoying their lives with others. Individualization has broken up the joint family system, paving way for the youth to fall prey to drug addiction. This stage is the most vulnerable period of life where the youth need guidance, counseling, education and care by parents.

So how did we get part of their culture over here, you ask, their culture has become over popularized here, through electronic media that everyone wants to be just like them. Because of that India has lost her identity from all other countries. We’ve now become a copy – cat to all other nations and we may lose our individuality. The reason is because, we want another image, we don’t want to be the olden – day - traditional country, which still hasn’t become the so - called ‘modern’, even in the 21st century. We don’t want to look like imposters to all other well – developed countries. If you have ever thought of that, erase that thought because the image we’ve got planted in our minds is terribly wrong. India is not an imposter to other nations, it never has been, but will if the people of today continue to do everything they see on cable TV.

India is an independent country now and has been for a while, with no such problems. The reason behind that is because our ancestors fought for us, so that we could have a future in our own way, not with any other way, which we are not used to. I’m not saying that India should stop everything they’ve learnt from western countries, but to have some individuality from other nations and to set an example to the other 3rd world countries and give out the message that there are other nations to set an example on.

So, for the people who fought for us, for India to keep her dignity and to be a leader to other countries, we the people of today must be our own country and not be some other country, which we’re not. Everyone is his or her own countryman - why can’t we be our own as well?

Hello

Effect Of Western Culture On Indian Youth

Well World is changing, because of lot of developments in various sectors like IT, MANUFACTURING, Revolution of E COMMERCE and many more ... have brought the ties between various nations/ people and their cultures to get mixed with each other. WELL I WOULD TAKE A BIASED OPINION IN THIS.

Lets take example of USA. Well Indians are crazy of adopting Western Culture LIKE DRESS CODE, MUSIC, HABITS, IMPORTING FOREIGN GOODS. What not we feel so attracted to all those. But by adopting we dint loose our traditions and culture; we tend to blend both of them.

It all depends on person likes and dislikes, how he /she will behave according to situations. As our friend PAVANI has mentioned like PUBS are to be strictly banned. Well that cant is possible realistically. If an individual decides what is good/bad for them every person can be in control ...rite

I finally stress points like No matter people adopt what ever the culture ... They shud be in the limits and act rationally according to the situations. We jus cant stop/Ban things by considering it to be western /eastern. We need to analyze what benefits we get and try to choose.options. Since what all we want is PROGRESS/DEVELOPMENT ultimately to our nation. So IT’S EVERY PERSONS RESPONSIBILY TO CONTRIBUTE HIS/HER PART TO IT.

Posted By: anshumaan

Yes, as the topic indicates Indian youths are very much influenced by this western culture. Their activities, habits and every other social movement have improved to a very great extent than it was a few years ago. This, from a perspective is good as it helps very much for the development and growth of an individual or in other words to widen his views about matters and also in approaching people.

But at the same time so called social movements (like pubs, parties) all celebratable days (like mothers day, fathers day....) again an influence of the western culture are turning out to be a slow poison that's completely eating away our precious tradition and rich culture.

The induced western culture is not all. There's something more, something really good that's actually to be followed or taken from them. Any influence that's going to retain our Nation and its traditional culture unaffected is always good to be welcomed.

Posted By: cishawsharma

Hmm very interesting topic to answer

Every country has its own culture.

Binge drinking, smoking and wearing revealing cloths is not a culture of a particular country in west.

However we should have western influence in particular things like

-- Hard working nature

-- Doing the things perfectly which lacks in most Indians

-- Commitment

-- Loving their country like maintain the environment clean and neat.

--Especially western countries ban EVE TEASING and BULLYING

They take it as very serious offence.

-- Sincerity.

--Respecting the fellow human begin.

Yes if you folks think that these are the qualities, which should be adopted by everyone, then we should have western influence on us.

I don’t think that smoking and boozing is a western influence.

There is great impact of foreign culture on youth

We Indians have changed a lot in all aspects such as food, clothing, education etc. The foreign culture has influenced us to a great extent that today we especially youth give first importance to all foreign goods like T.V, cars, dresses, food any many things. We are not able to realize the simple fact that self-respect comes with self-reliance.

But why this impact of foreign culture doesn’t show up when it comes to certain aspects like keeping the surroundings clean. We all know that in US people will be fined if they throw unnecessary garbage on roads. We respect their rules and regulations when we are in US. But more then 90% for us doesn’t care about cleanliness when it comes to Indian roads.

That clearly indicates we are not giving that much respect to our country as we respect others.

Another important thing is "IS their any country were dowry system is there?”. Why shouldn't that be implemented here also? Daily we read at least one news on "harassments for the sake of dowry" And people are even killing them for the sake of money. The so-called foreign cultures will never influence us in such aspects.

I feel there are many advantages if we grasp the good instead of bad from them. As our friends said it merely depends on our hands and especially on our youth.

Posted By: ms4u65

Hi all,

This is d.madhusudan

First and foremost it is absolutely right that the foreign culture has been affecting our lives in a gr8 way. Especially the youth have taken a special liking to the culture. I would like to add that this means that u r forgetting ur own culture and embracing the other s culture that is alien to u. As a result after adapting to the foreign culture the people behave in an indifferent manner.

There for I appeal the youth to give up the foreign culture and embrace our own culture.

A very good evening to all here

In my opinion western culture has changed the face of Indian youth in the recent years. Today’s is a world of globalization and frequent change and the top among then being Indian youth as youth are always lingering with that emery and attitude they r most viable species to change and western culture have effected them in most of ways...it has changed their way of speaking, their mentality towards life, their general outlook, their personality and even petty issues like their way of dressing up and all.and to the mosst the change is of the western level. Sometimes acceptable and sometimes not acceptable in Indian society but most of the times not...it all depends...they have grown more free, family seems like a tie to one...they want to be independent want to have a life of their own where they are the masters, they ant to change the world at a stench...which is something not possible and India which has been stagnant has taken these changes as something against it's rich culture. Somewhere it's true...we are earth people. And may not be able to breathe properly in air for long. So we need to be attached to our roots...and these roots have started losing it’s grip. Today...so as I said somewhere its rgt somewhere wrong.... so its not like that western is all about bad they are better then us...and of course this is where the difference btw developing and developed country exists.so if we want to follow then we must follow them about their goods...their way of working, their professionalism, their fgt towards cleanliness.... this is something worth learning from them. And it will further help us to improve in our own way...so copying the bad things of west will lead us nowhere...today's youth is running after west. Is likely to break all the ties at once but he doesn’t knew...the rich culture our country holds.... we are having lots a good things...so we don’t need running after anyone the only thing is...........the only thing we need is to improve in certain way. And our youth has the capability to do that. The need is to channels their energy in right direction...coz they are imp 2 our country n we need them. As citizens....

Posted By: meera

Yah, the effect of western culture has changed Indian youth a lot. It has its own positive & negative side. To live in this completive world we have to make our self compatible to adopt the changing life style if it seems to be very comfortable.

The effect of Western culture in Indian youth can be seen in most of the actives as dressing, food habits, the way of moving with others and even western dance has gained its popularity among Indian youth.

We people usually underestimate our country and overestimate foreign countries. Usually we prefer to buy foreign products from perfume to car bcos we think those products were more quality than ours. There is something to learn from the foreigners as keeping the environment clean & not to throw the waste on the roadside. But we Indians follow these rules & regulations in their country but forget to implement in our country.

And in this mechanical world we r slowly forgetting our traditional culture which may not be known to our future generation.

So, it is in the hand of Indian youth to suck only the needed things from the western culture and leave the waste that is not needed.

Posted By: lakshmishank200

One thing we have see when a person in saw industry can produce a errorless code why cant he make a country a clean free. The culture always lies in citizens. People always take things for granted. They choose a method that is quite easy. For e.g. in joint family he has to adjust with everybody but in the case of nuclear family he is free bird with less responsibility. If we citizens are able to adapt easily to the western wear why can’t we follow the same culture in maintaining the quality product, enjoying life-giving freedom for women and giving an equal respect to others

Posted By: raghu

HI,

Yes we all know that Western Culture is affecting Indian Youth, but most of them are interested to know about the latest trends and latest brands of clothes and cars released in to the western market. But no one is interested to develop the same concept and Technology in India.

If you are really interested in getting addicted to the Western culture, get to know about their mannerism and neatness of the surroundings. Wearing Jeans and minis is not enough to acquire the western culture.

What I suggest is to get to know about the western culture but that should not affect OUR INDIAN CULTURE in a bad way.

Posted By: vinvish

In my opinion the western culture has influenced us in many good ways like they have made us move along with the world. Many of us think that if one is influenced by western culture its not that you have to forget your culture. I think one is good enough to decide which is good or bad. Western culture has never said to go to bars, to follow their dress codes it’s our understanding of it, which makes it good or bad. Instead of taking bad things of it let us take good things out of it like their communication skills, their technology etc. What I want to say nobody can be forced to do things unless he wants to.

Foreign Television Channels are destroying our culture

Foreign Television channels are destroying our culture

In my opinion as the coin has too sides ... this topic is also having both advantages and disadvantages.

Coming to advantages some of the foreign channels like BBC, Discovery, National Geography, Animal Planet, BSNC, Star sports, Ten sports... are very much useful to us to update our knowledge. And the technology used by these channels is excellent.

But coming to the disadvantages of course there are some channels, which destroys our Indian culture.

All it depends on our mind set. If we use those channels in right way they will be useful to us. If we use in wrong way it creates bad impact on our culture.

Posted By: faraz

Yes, I believe all in all the foreign TV are destroying our culture. We have a rich and diverse culture. But, western culture doesn't have such values and social esteem. They have a totally different mindset as they leave the child once his 10-12 yr old. They are spoiling the values and social fabric of Indians.

Posted By: chris_ti_na1234

I feel that foreign channels are destroying our culture to a certain extend.

But I feel Indians are people who are much on a positive side. If only the right aspect of the channel that is right content is perceived then it won’t do much harm. To be very practical ban on foreign channels is absurd, but a controlled telecast can be done.

As Indian audiences are usually family, I feel that those programs that suit a family could be telecasted.

Various channels of educational importance like discovery and national geographic are worth watching by Indians.

I would like to raise a question whether Indian channels are promoting Indian culture.

I think at first a proper rule should be made for the controlled telecast of visual media whether it is Indian channel or foreign

HI,

India is known and it is outstanding from other company’s bcoz of its culture. Still it is known for its culture. Television is a form of media to create awareness among people and to entertain people. According to me, nothing is affecting our culture. Nobody is responsible for that. Each individual is responsible for his or her success or failure. SO foreign channels r not affecting our culture. Not only television, all the available sources will be a favor or against to us in the way of utilization. If u looks at it in wrong manner, it is against and vice versa. There r many channels such as BBC, DISCOVERY, STAR SPORTS, ESPN, STAR NEWS and many channels which gives us a high standard and gives the information about the nook and corner.

But if we think that foreign channels are affecting our culture, then not only foreign channels, Indian channels are also affecting our culture. And it is wrong only if Indian channels affect our culture. Culture is not in the way of dressing and culture is not fashion. It is the behavior, manner etc. So according to me, all depends on the way in which we take. So if u watch the channel in a wrong way, then surely it will destroy-not our culture, it will destroy u.

Hi All,

Foreign Channels! The things that strike our minds are CNN, BBC, ESPN, FTV, STAR MOVIES, AXN, and other n no. Of channels which do dominant the viewer ship choice. The point here is do they affect our culture.

Coming to our culture, it is diversified and has a broad spectrum. One point I would like to make it clear to the outset is that foreign countries like America or such developed countries took a long time to shift the modern culture we are witnessing. The trend was a continuous one and it was never a sudden shift. So, the transition was smooth and they do have no complaints about it. The children and parents do have a mindset to tackle their day-to-day scenario, which may look absurd to us. Yes! They do have a different culture and its common for them to have two or three marriages in a lifetime and women also have the strength to live an independent life. Even the children do have the courage to face any consequences and they also become independent very soon in their career.

Given this scenario the channels they do portray a mirror image of their culture and their tastes. It is ok for them to view semi-naked or naked movies or shows and it’s a part and parcel of life over there. Whereas in India a women is treated as god (at least what our culture says). We can’t expect our people to behave in that manner. It can be taken as a way of entertainment, but cannot be replicated. The recent trend of movies and shows by Indians is much alarming. The divide between the rural and urban does have an impact on this society. Nowadays the anchors or heroines or songs do have an adverse affect on our culture, which are showcased by our own Indian people. So, where does the question arise that they destroy our culture. Suppose, we have a knife in our possession, using it to kill a person or to cut a vegetable solely lies in our hands. We can’t blame the knife for it.

Now, looking at the better side of the aspect. We do have informative news channels, which have 24*7 coverage of world. They do provide information and knowledge to all age groups. The cartoon channels are a big boon to our kids. The creativity in animation and the digital effects of sound they put in, virtually they put life into those pictures. It is in our hands how many hours our kids spend before them. The channels like AXN and the like do bring out our courage to face life in all their ups and downs. The sports channels do give us coverage of complete sports where we can watch our sports person performing in an international arena like we saw our speedster Karthikeyan. It is again in our hands how much time we glue ourselves to the idiot box. The NGC or Discovery channels do add the spice of life with their coverage on wide range of topics from War Scenarios, Scientific missions like rover to mars, Animal kingdom, Volcanic eruptions, Tornados, etc risking their own life providing us the best from the world. Life has now become an inevitable for many of us without listening to those English beats thanks to some of those channels.

So, we do have something to ponder upon to decide for ourselves to deal with the present scenario. Good for good, bad for bad.

I don't think it is the foreign channels to be blamed for destroying our culture. There is something to learn from everything. What we take from these depends on our wisdom. The programs on some channels may look offensive or a bit weird in contrast to the programs that are part of the regional channels. There are channels, which are very useful for the educative class, and there are also channels, which portray the so-called "unethical " in our culture. Most of these are meant for entertainment and communication of information. It's all left to us to decide what's to just enjoy what's to learn.

An adult may make a wise decision. But this may not be the case with a kid. They as the way of life, and something that they would try to imitate can take things shown on TV. So at least as far as kids are concerned there has to be an adult supervision and their access to these channels should be limited. Childhood is the crucial part of one's learning so the values of our culture should be learnt by every child and which is to be made sure by his parents. The channels cannot influence the child's psyche as long as parents and people around him are responsive enough about carrying ahead their culture through their children. Once these values are learnt no channel would be a threat to our culture, but would be a source of learning about the true values of other cultures that may matter to us positively, we would watch every obnoxious program, which can be very entertaining, but still preserve our culture.

Hello

Definitely those are destroying our culture and social system. As rena expressed her views that its depends on the individual perception. But these channels are influencing the younger generation and having the demonstration affect which in turn spoils the system.

Some of the foreign channels like BBC, DISCOVERY etc those all are educative and informative channels but not related to culture.

Culture is not only the dressing behavior it also pertains to Social system, Customs, Traditions, Ethical values, Way of living, Rituals, Social functions and Spiritual things.

These values erupted and transmitted from generation to generation is to be conserved while living in the modern era.

Posted By: bubby

Yes they are destroying our culture in some ways, and in some other ways they are helpful in inculcating good knowledge.

We were well known for our tradition and culture. But becoz of these foreign channels people is getting attracted towards western culture. As one of our famous Indian SWAMY VIVEKANANDA explained about Indian culture in a meeting of Chicago, which inspired the people of other countries to great extent that they wanted to follow the Indian tradition. But its unfortunate thing that today we are forgetting out Indian culture and trying to follow foreign culture.

Yes as raju said using r misusing the foreign channels depends on our hands. But we know that people get attracted towards bad then good .So these channels have become a source of getting attracted towards bad then good.

Channels reflect ones culture to a great extent. So they are a source to become well known about different cultures. And also to know about their standards of living.

So finally we should grasp well and leave the bad .Any technology is useful is we use it in proper way.

Well guys it’s a very nice topic.

"Foreign television channels r destroying our culture".

Actually in my point of view it completely depends on u and ur intrest. They’re many channels like discovery, national geography, all news channels and sports channels broadcasts the stuffs that we cannot get anywhere.

The knowledge we gets from here are hardly we get from anywhere. I think very less or no channels could do it now or never in India.

Looking at the other side we also gets some channels which r full of sex and these types of materials.

So what ssrkraju told we cannot blame d knife for it. We should adopt the valuable things not the bad.

What you prefer Development side or ITES/BPO. WHY?

Posted By: keerthi

Hello every body,

As per my background and subject I will choose a job on development side only. The reason is quiet clear that I would always prefer work on a platform where I can implement the subject which I learnt. This would obviously give a job satisfaction.

On the other hand if we consider BPOS/ITES jobs most of them demand a voice based service or giving replies to foreign customers on phones, etc. For these jobs I think there is no area where we can work on our subject. I don’t get a chance to implement or improve my skills.

Well I know very little about ITES/BPO jobs. May be I having a BIASED view about them.

SO FRIENDS please I request every one of u to post their own opinions on this topic. No matter if it is a small sentence just post ur ideas that not only improves your skills but also increases ur thought process.

I expect more replies from u

Posted By: keerthi

Hello friends

This a kind of MOCK GD, and I hope we wont get this opportunity any where else unless we pay something. As our moderator asserts, here there is no one to comment on u. Even if some one comments just ignore them.

If the same topic is given in real GD it will be very easy to participate, and this obviously increases ur confidence level.

And one more point to note is we can get more points on the topic only when all of us express our views.

In most of the GD's the interviewers expect us to atleast speak a few words, no matter how much it contributes to the discussion. Infact they see our body language, behavior, etc.

SO I request all of u to actively participate in this and utilize this to maximum extent.

Hi all

As I’m doing my engineering I wud undoubtedly choose development side b's I like to work in an area that well develops my knowledge in my domain and moreover I like to face challenges.

Reg ITES. I think now-a -daz for doing these jobs just any graduation is enough and in those sectors unless we are put in a company that gives weight age to technical skills there u’ll not be able to expose or develop ur technical skills.

Acc. to me any job that I do must provoke my knowledge and make me able to perform as efficient as much.

Posted By: vinoddas

Hi Everybody,

The topic is what you prefer Development side or ITES/BPO. WHY?

As I am an Engineer I would prefer to work in Development side. Because I don't like the job which are in routine base.

Development side will make me think, think, and think. I can Developed my knowledge in Creating new things which I can't get in the BPOs /Ites.

Posted By: pooja

Hello,

According to me I would definitely like to join development side which I am good at, in which there will be more creativity, in which I can show my creativity and my innovations and can improve my subject knowledge so according to my field development side is best for me.

Posted By: radhichmca

Hi, friends

Most of them who participated in this GD prefer development side. In any selection process it/bpo communication skills r very important. In development side selection process also giving importance to communication skills than tech. skills. They select based on communication skills but they r going to work in some other domain.

In BPO's they r seeing communication skills, they will go work for that domain. Here what we express that what we r going to do. With out communication skills we cannot work in any field. In that field also we can improve our knowledge, we can easily express our ideas. Through calls we only BPO's going to solve problems, with out seeing directly. We are solving other countries tech. problems; they don't know how to solve. I am providing for this job.

Posted By: sowmya571

Hello

Well I wd rather be focused in choosing IT rather than BPO's since

Choosing field where we want to make our life depends on our career goals and what we want to become in long term. Since People whom really good at programming as well as have liking for software field, which shows GROWTH as we proceed in our JOB, is more preferred mostly. Since here we will be learning Phase most of the times...

BPO's on other hand are growing tremendously today .our communication skills do improve. But it will be routine kind off work. I guess. So I wd rather prefer IT sector rather than BPO.

Posted By: lakshmishank200

What ever the field one should find some satisfaction in working and should give input in one form or other. Note one thing the development team cannot develop an sw unless a client requires it. In this case the client can be a bpo company. The maintained has to be a continuous process based on the feedback from the client side. So the Bpo tea also has an equal responsibility in processing a request.

Posted By: meera

Well as I am doing my graduation in software no doubted I would like to choose development side where I can apply my subject knowledge. But anyway to join anywhere communication skill is important.

As sowmya said BPO job seems to be like a routine work as attending calls from overseas and there is no way to implement our knowledge anywhere.

Posted By: csekayal

Hai friends

It is very good gd topic. My pt of view "development side is better"

Bcoz BPO is temporary one .if after some day even some s/w can be created to replace bpo staffs. (I.e.) for customer question s/w give answer to it.

Next, in this field we can't improve our skills.

Nowadays it is not safety for women’s.

So, programming development side is better.

Hello Friends,

Today’s education system in India has developed a lot and according to me India’s education system is top most among all over the world. But in spite of this there are many people who are illiterate because of poverty many parents want to send their children but they are not able to because of such high school's fees so govt of India should introduce a rule such that they provide proper education to the children who are below poverty line. Even Big voluntary organizations can come forward and can help them making each and every child to be educated and developing our country...

Posted By: raghu

Hello,

Education is an important aspect, which can decide the country's future. If the literacy in the country increases, obviously the Economy gets improved. It's better to know that the Govt. is coming up with midday meal schemes, but this alone is not sufficient to overcome the poverty or help the poor children. I suggest that the Govt. has to request the corporate companies and Private schools to help the poor children. And it's the responsibility of each and every individual to look after the poor children for a better future of that country. One can also help the poor children by sharing the knowledge like teaching a subject once in a week or twice in a week in Govt schools.

This can help in building a bright future for that country.

Hello every body,

Yes education in India has developed a lot. In olden days only few people in a family were educated and girls were not allowed to go to schools. But now the TREND is something different, there is no difference between a girl and a boy at any aspect. But still our India in not 100% literate. This is mainly due to the poverty existing in India.

Coming to the education system in India it is memory based education but not activity based. As a result there are very less people with good skills and leadership qualities. I think schools in India both public and private must give some importance to activity-based education also.

Instead of leaving the responsibilities to government in order to educate the poor children the private voluntary bodies has to come up, and the role of youth is very important here. As raghu said one can help the poor by sharing the knowledge with them.

Hello

Education in India has improved a lot considering past before independence. Considering past views Female education is not supported. Now the trend has been changed a lot. Gals are equal to guys in all fields. Many GUD education Institutes have been come up encouraging Indians to enrich their knowledge as well as maturity towards things.

We also have got good research centers as well as development centers where Continuous research is been done with latest equipment considering other countries like USA, CHINA, etc.

Today most of study pattern is been implemented ONLINE making student know in depth of the topics.

Equally children are becoming fast in grasping things. And. Most important thing of all.a VALUE ADDED SYSTEM is created.

But India shud also makes this kind of progress continuously in all the sectors.including education system, their enhancements for making students still more flexible

Posted By: vinoddas

Hello Everybody.

In my point of view Education in India is totally Depend on Money .for example when I joined in engineering my fee is 14,000 only (2002) on the next year there was a huge hike in 2003 it came around 30,000. Money lacks many people to join in Engineering. Apart from that some of the institution are Getting Extra amount from the Student.

This thing should not happen any more then only Education in India would be good.

There is also a good improvement in Developing New Technology in Indian Education like Video Conference, Online Education etc. This should also Reach village people also then only India Will be Bright then others.

Posted By: meenakshisekar

Hi all

As we are all saying penury plays a major role on educational system but what I think is not only penury but also the attitude of the people should also change.

Our educational system is very much complicated b's even if u r not able to understand u can go to school get things learned and u can pass but that is not the case in foreign countries they bring up a child right from the scrap in its own way.i.e if a child has interest in doing a particular thing they allow the child to do that itself this builds research mentality right from the child hood itself.

They don't have home work they never get scolding from teachers /parents for not studying or for not doing homework hence they enjoy going school b's they are allowed to do things in which they are interested in.

U knows many children refuses to go to school bs of heavy burden of homework and b's of the fear of teachers.

Schools should give importance to practical education unless a stabilized educational system can't be established.

Students creativity should be encouraged and it shud b given priority to have a healthy education.

Posted By: keerthi

Well in my view education institutions can accept reasonable amount. Bcoz without that they cannot maintain good facilities like efficient faculty, labs, libraries, and many things to list.

But when it comes to poor students they can pursue the free education Max up to SSC (Xth). And there are also government colleges, which provide free education. But these government colleges lack good facitilies. As we know higher education is turning point for them. So I feel more private charitable trusts and voluntary bodies should come up with good institutions with good facilities.

Suggest ideas as to how to tap funds from corporates. Friends I expect more ideas from u.

Posted By: keerthi

Of course some of our government schools are trying to attract children from slum areas by adopting play way method of teaching. But still there are many people who resist sending their children to schools.

So I think first we need to change the mindset of parents. They must be told the importance of education and how it helps their children to stand in this competitive world. I think One of the ways to attract them is the government should provide money for basic needs to all the families if they send their children to schools.

Posted By: meera

Obviously, education in India has been gradually increasing from one generation to next. Government is providing support for the education for children under poverty by introducing various schemes like midday meals. It is in the hand of we people to make general awareness towards education among parents especially in the villages, as we cannot blame every thing 4 government to do .So that they can recognize the importance of education and make their children also to realize the importance. This helps us to improve the economy of our country and build a strong nation

But as we lookout the current education system it is not quite fair. B’cos as keerthi said our education system is memory based and it does not help to improve the creativity of the student in any way. Our students were theoretically strong and practically weak when compared to other countries like Japan, U.S.A, China .So practical importance should be given to improve the student’s logical & analytical ability

Indian customs-are we in a time warp?

  • Rating: Unrated

Posted By: ssrkraju

Hi All,

When we talk of Indian Customs, we need to broaden our mind. Dowry, Sati, Child Marriage, etc are not the only Indian customs. It is an Indian custom which says Respect Elders, Respect Teachers, Parents are the first Teachers, Honor your guests, Dress traditionally according to situation, strive for excellence, etc. These are also part of our custom. The point here is we generally follow those customary aspects, which give benefit in a simple way like dowry. Our custom also says that treat your spouse as your better half. Why is this factor missing? Our custom also gives us some responsibility. I do agree that Dowry, child marriage, sati etc in any form should be avoided. They still exist in the present society due to ignorance of people and all those around who choose to be mute spectators.

Child marriage is generally done due to the attitude of poor parents who want to let off the so-called burden on them. Effective education of children in this society is very important in dealing with these incidents. We cannot get a readymade solution for this; it takes some time to get to the future void of these stray incidents. Consider for example the bizarre incidents of US students open fires in schools or cafeteria in today's news - is it US custom. No! Custom should not be made responsible for these stray incidents. It is our responsibility as a citizen of India to project our customs and traditions in positive light and should always work to clean out some out-dated customs.

Posted By: cishawsharma

This is due to lack of knowledge and lack of exposure to the world. And there might be due to the fact that they have to respect their tradition and customs. But the bottom line is due to lack of knowledge and exposure.

How green was my valley..Are we paying the price of nature?

  • Rating: Unrated

  • Posted By: faraz

Yes, I believe we are paying the price of nature. When man is so ruthlessly plundering nature's resources than he has to pay the price for it! The price for it is the greenhouse effect, global warming, etc. and the various respiratory and other diseases caused by air, water and land pollution. We are no longer the physically strong bodies of the yester years. Even today when we ask our elders they boastfully say of their manhood and how they used to be so strong and daring!!! The present man is more inclined towards a plastic life with new resources and greater comforts by greedily extracting the world of its fauna and flora!!!

Posted By: BINNY

HI,

Yes, we are paying the price of nature. With ever increasing deforestation & industrialization we are moving the world towards a dead end ...Though our scientists are working on reversing the affects of Global Warming & depletion of Ozone layer. If they are not successful by the D-day ...we will be definitely extinct from this Universe...

Posted By: ssrkraju

Hi All,

India is a developing country and to build its industries we need to have land and we go for deforestation and destruction of land resources. True and Accepted. But, how can we justify the duties related to this. Why can't we plant the trees that are cut somewhere else? Why don’t we compensate the deforestation? Who has given us the right to change the balance of mother Earth? Who would be responsible for the change in climatic conditions? Do the industries take care of environmental pollution once they are constructed? Indeed they do add fuel to the fire.

Most of the barren land can be changed to a lively green place with little care and concern. Every tree cut should be accompanied with plantation of one or two trees. Development and forest cover are not mutually exclusive and they can co-exist together. We can have self-sufficient forests by taking precautionary measures. Many animals and birds are getting extinct within no time and if this trend continues. The extinction of man can be delayed but will be inevitable. Man is clever and has to care of nature, which has been taking care of us since the formation of earth. Earth is the only place in the whole universe to have life. It is in our hands that we can prevent its extinction otherwise in future may be some people from other stars find earth and could comment "there was life on earth some time back, we just missed them". It is not a far future when we say to our grandchildren that "there is a village with greenery in some state and we can visit it in this summer". I urge you all that if we don’t take necessary action it will be too late.

Posted By: meera

Yes we r paying the price of nature. Due to deforestation we r destruction the human life by destroying various natural resources. It can also result in pollution, which affects the human and also animals in a great percentage.

A depletion of the ozone layer will increase the UV-radiation at ground level. Increasing doses of UV may cause skin cancer, eye cataracts, damage to the immune system in animals as well as human beings, and have an adverse impact on plant growth.

So it is in hands of we people to save the nature & save our life

Posted By: cishawsharma

Yeah there is lot of pollution. And we are not at all caring for nature. We should concentrate on saving the nature at least from now. Decrease the pollution. We have to go green.I.e. using less paper, growing some trees at our place or in our neighborhood, using good source of fuel.

Posted By: keerthi

We had a beautiful green natural environment, which is not comparable with other countries. In the past we were very proud to say about it. But now-a-days all the nations are trying to show supremacy over one another, and in this process they are unknowingly destroying the natural environment.

Population is one of the reasons of this destruction, which in directly results in pollution. This results in the increase of no of industries and other utilities like vehicles, etc. These are releasing some of the poisonous/toxic gases like Carbon monoxide and sulphurdioxide and also carbon dioxide.

Carbon monoxide when inhaled by human beings mixes with hemoglobin of blood and forms carboxy hemoglobin. This oxygen reduces carrying capacity of the hemoglobin.

Sulphurdioxide released into the atmosphere mixes with the rainwater or water vapor in the atmosphere and forms sulphuric acid and this results in acid rains.

Chloroform carbons, which are released from refrigerators and aero planes, are causing the destruction of ozone layer.

All of us know that co2 is responsible for greenhouse effect and global warming which causes the melting of ice at the poles and soon the earth may be submerged.

And due to the industrial effluents, sewage, which is released into the water, are harmful to the aquatic organisms.

In this way if we start saying there is endless list .So we have to think about the possible measures to control them.

1. Using solar energy effectively we can control thermal pollution.

2. Water pollution can be reduced by treating the industrial effluents chemically and biologically before releasing them into the water.

3. Global warming/green house effect can be reduced by deforestation. And by planting as many trees as possible.

A nation of 950 million, we fail to produce great champions barring the occasional Vishwanathan Anand or Geet Sethi. Sports system steeped in bureaucracy. Overriding popularity of cricket leading to neglect in other sports. Traditionally, sports not accorded much importance by us as a career. Need to develop sports from the primary school level-"catch me young"? Various incentives to be given to budding sportsmen like academic credits, sports in lieu of a few other subjects etc. Development of sports infrastructure, making it amenable and affordable...etc.....

Posted By: mohanraai

Dear Friends,

Good topic. I want to highlight some reasons to lack in Sports in our nation.

In our nation have many sports persons. But due to family situation, the person mind was converted (brain washed by parents) to earn money and spend with his/her family like wise. Of course in sports also got money in many ways. But some people only go to successful sports person (spiritual confident persons). And some coaches gave mental torture to their students both men/women’s. This is also one of the reasons. Also now a days parents also advise to children’s " he become a doctor/engineers". So they don't allow to spending time with sports. They guide only to them. If some persons allowed means, they also good up to their college days, after that they focused to jobs.

So the main reasons, doesn't have correct guidance to them.

Posted By: meenakshisekar

As what mohanrai said

The main reason for this is right from the child hood the child is brought up in a mind setup that only thro studies we can earn money and if a person is not studying well he is not fit for anything.

Parents are the main reason for this.b’s many parents doesn’t encourage their kids in sports as they do in other fields. They think that if a child has interest in sports he will have to suffer if he grows up.

Proper encourage mend from the childhood is lacking and slowly they lose their interest in sports.

Even if a grown up boy is playing very well he is not selected for playing in the national team b's playing for national team needs some recommendations these days and main thing is talent is not given importance rather fame and money are given.

Posted By: keerthi

Yes what meena says is correct today the mindset of every parent is like that, and the society became like that. And most important point is most of the schools give importance only to the studies than to the co-curricular activities. The schools have to give special guidance to the students who are interested in sports, and give the man opportunity to participate in tournaments.

Posted By: lakshmishank200

I object some views of meenaski. The parents feel that the son who is into sports won’t earn much when compared to the person who owns a degree. What is the reason of this????? This thought is true but the reason behind is the lack of support from the govt. If a person becomes a national player he should be helped financially for certain aspects for e.g. his son's educational. Lack of support leads to a disinterest in sports. The entertainment channel should also take responsibilities to telecast the sports rather than just telecasting cinemas. For younger children the TV channels should show telecast shows in the form that will impress them. Only by this the sports can be bought an important activity

Posted By: meenakshisekar

Hi

If parents are ready to spend enormous amount of money for his studies why cant they the same for him in sports instead. Why shud they seek government's help to support him. Of course in later part of his life he may seek govt support but initially parents are the main source of encouragement and govt can't play a major role initially.

Posted By: satwath

Now a day’s people r crazy abt cricket. They show much interest on this.

Hockey is our National game. But day-by-day peoples interest on it is getting reduced. When we look at cricket most of the people like to participate in it. Where as Hockey we rarely see few schools nd Colleges showing interest on it. So as a national game we must not neglect it. And am not only saying Hockey but other sports too. The type of interest, which is shown towards cricket, must also be shown towards other Sports too.

Posted By: siri

Hiiiiiiii

Yes what my friends says is correct. I want to give some reasons.

First govt is not giving much importance to sports. Yes we look at the people who are interested in cricket bcoz cricket is not under govt .we have cooperate board BCCI.and we have more sponsors for that. But for other sports there are less sponsors so plays face lot of problems so they r not showing interest. So govt has to give much importance sports. And in the selection process also we need recommendations so actual talented people are not getting chance. In population we r in second place but in Olympics we r not getting medals. Why bcoz the talented people r not getting chance. So my request is govt must encourage the players. And it should give the chance to the talented persons rather than recommended persons. And the same sponsors not only showing interest towards cricket at the same time if thy give importance to other sports it will be good.

Posted By: Aarthi

Hi ppl

It’s a very interesting topic to be discussed with. Nowadays people have a craze towards cricket. They are giving importance only to cricket. So the talents of the athletes in the other games r left unnoticed. Plus there r more sponsors 4 crickets than other games. Y don they sponsor 4 other games too????????????? Young minds r like molded soil. They r flexible. So parents shud impart their children abt the importance of sports in their young ages which all give them confidence n fillip to participate in sports in the future. This ails Indian sports

Any opposition 4 this??????????????????????????????????

Posted By: pooja

Hello friends,

I agree with what all my friends has said as there is no much interest left in the parents to make their child a sportsman as it requires lots of money to invest and then after training also there is no guarantee that he will get selected as in that field more recommendations will plays the imp role but not the talent so according to me govt should take the initiative they should train all the children based on their talent, by seeing their performance they perform in their schools, even parents should understand their child's interest and should work accordingly by allowing them to take trainings and becoming the future sports person...

Posted By: sriya

Hi

According to me, one of the reasons for fewer sportsmen in our country might be because of lack of encouragement from parents as well as from schools. In many colleges they are not allocating time for games, which shows us the priority sports are being given. Many schools don’t conduct games hour or sports hour as it conducts special classes. A healthy body is a sign of good mind. So, I think sports must be given the same priority as studies and the schools n colleges must conduct sports hour for all the students at least every alternate day and they must provide good coaching for the students in whichever sports they are interested so that students who are interested in having sports as an career will be benefited.

TODAY OUR SPORTSMAN LACKS BEHIND BECAUSE THE SPORTS AUTHORITY IS NOT CONCERN ABOUT THE FACILITIES THAT THEY PROVIDE TO THESE SPORTSMAN.

A SPORTSMAN OF INDIA NEVER GETS A WORLD CLASS FACILITIES, SO HOW CAN THE GOVERMENT CAN THINK OF MEDALS .THE SPORTS AUTHORITY OF INDIA IS FULL OF POLITICS, ANJU BOBBY GEORGE WHEN RETURNED TO INDIA AFETR WINNING MEDAL, THEN WHEN SHE WAS ON THE ROUTINE TRANING IN THE STADIUM, AFTER THE SESSION SHE HAS TO HIRE A AUTO SHARING WITH OTHER TWO GIRLS, WHEN THIS MATTER WAS ASKED BY THE AUTHORITY, THEY REPLIED THAT THIS IS NOT OUR DUTY, IS THIS WAY U TREAT U'R CHAMP.

AND WORST CONDITION IS IN OUR NATIONAL GAME HOCKEY, MR GILL IS ACTING LIKE A BULLY IN THIS FIELD, MAKING CONDITION WORST FOR THE PLAYERS, HE IS NOT ALLOWING THE PLAYERS TO PLAY IN THE BEST LEAGUE "THE HOLLAND LEAGUE" IN FREE SEASON.SO THAT THEY CAN IMPROVE THEIR GAME, EVEN HE HAS SHOWN DOOR TO DANRAJ PILLAI .THE CONDITION IS GETTING WORSE..................

Hi frnds

I agreed with all of u but what meena told that’s right. Frnds, scenario of our India is different 70% population are from villages and all most r from a middle class family. So I feel, parents don’t want to see their children as a sports person bcoz they think sports r a way of entertainment and wasting of time. Parents think after completing study their children will earn a handsome salary.definetly sport like tennis, cricket has its own crazy n a lot of money but now sports steeped in bureaucracy and it has become a ground of politics. So everyone feel that his or her carrier is not secure in game.

So my view is that there should not be a battle of politics in the sports and there should be awareness in people from their childhood about sports.

Before few months there was only crazy of cricket but now people r crazy to watch SANIA MIRZA and her ricket.why? Bcoz of her miracles in court.

So I think, our government should also take a step for empowerment of sports. The person whom have interest but bcoz of laking of resources they just kill their dream for being a perfect sports person.

If there will be good sports academy at least 1/2 in a distant they will search hidden talents and if they will train the dynamic youth then I am damn sure we will find out several sachin, sania, anand etc.and also we will be able to make a place in the world sport, by this way we can make our image in even our national game what we have lost today.

But frnd only these steps are not enough to stand a heavy body on a weak foot. So government should take care of these sports person, all need should be provided to the sportsperson by government. All sports person will feel their carrier is save and secure then even parent will allow their children.

Hi,

Well, there are many reasons for this issue. At I fell is that, according to my knowledge there are so many best players are there in our nation, but the thing is that they r not coming into the real life, why bcoz they do not know the possibilities to participate in the compitions. The people do not have awareness of the oppertunites. Even the people and their parents do not know the rules and regulations of the game, but they can play well when compare to other players.

They need to boost up, the youth, govt and some organizations can do this. So youth should come forward to encourage the people. The secondary thing is that, due to politics. Some polities are ruling the country; generally they will do the things for their family members and well wishers not for the people. They never bother abt the nation and the talent people.

Only few people are having both talent and money. These people can easily shine, why bcoz they r having a strong support. Even if these people do not shine in this field, they r having alternative their parents will take care for these people. But the people who came from the remote places, they do not have any other source. So the people cannot come to the real life.

As human beings we definitely need feelings such as love, affection, caring.etc etc. But I think only these feeling cannot make man s life perfect. Simply we can say these things are part of life.

I know, on Valentines Day many hearts are going to be....

Dntwry. And need not to. As I said earlier its a part of life. And accept it.

So cheers

Happy Valentines Day

Hello

Well as manohari said Love is part of life. Many people express their love on this day, but I always feel that there neednt be a specific day to express love since when ever our heart feels like expressing u can express of course time n situation do matter. But still

Since it’s a part of life u neednt have to take seriously jus enjoy the moment /...else be sincerely stick/try it again may be their views might be changed and they might also accept it. Right.

Abstruse topic...

Okk in my views valentine day provide opportunities for flower sellers to earn 10 times more.

It give opportunities to SHIV SENA LEADERS demonstrate once in a year to prove they exist.

Well to valentines this day means special to them they get feeling of oneness, buissy husband wives take out time at least once in a year to show there love and affection to there valentines.

This day has great importance in western countries.

Thanks

THEIR IS NO REASONS WHY ONE SHOULD NOT CELEBRATE THIS DAY, ACCORDING TO MANY PEOPLES LIKE SHIV SENA, BAJRANG DAL PARTY THAT VALENTINE DAY IS DESTROYING OUR CULTURE, BUT THEY MUST KNOW OUR CULTURE IS NOT SO WEAK THAT IT CAN BE DESTROYED BY ACCEPTING WESTERN DAY CELEBRATION, THEY ARE AGAINST LOVE, THEY DID WANT TO SEE A LOVE COUPLE ON THIS DAY, BUT THEY R FORGETTING THAT EVEN THE AADIWASI (TRIBAL PEOPLE) EVEN THEY HAVE A DAY ON WHICH GIRL & BOY SELECT EACH OTHER, AND THEIR PARENTS AGREES TO THEIR FEELING,THEY ALSO SUPPORTS LOVE,SO WHY CANT WE.

Posted By: pooja

Hello friends,

Yes I agree with my friends as they say that love is a part of life. According to me every day is day where you can express your love but this will be the special day where you can express your feelings for everyone to your parents, to your friends and to your love and we should appreciate their feelings but not going against them.

Posted By: keerthi

Hello friends,

Yes love is a part of life. And this is the special day when we can express our feelings and celebrate with our beloved people like parents, friends, and LOVERS.Upto that it’s fine and ok.

Well Apart from that what are the advantages of celebrating this day. Well I have single answer that apart from routine busy life we can enjoy, express our love and celebrate, Which can be done on any other days also like birthdays, marriage days, Anniversarys, etc.

And what are the dis advantages? We are youth and especially Indians, so as responsible Indians we must also think about disadvantages, so just don’t think with a biased mind. I request u to present the advantages and disadvantages of this.

Posted By: raghu

Yes, I too agree that Love is a part of life. And we can celebrate Valentine’s Day but we should not forget our Indian culture. As we are celebrating Mother's day and Teacher's day, in the same way we can celebrate Valentine's Day. Apart from our busy life we can at least enjoy this day with our parents or friends or lover who ever it might be.

But one should not take the advantage of this day. You should not do any such things which makes your parents let down. Express your love and make your partner a Happiest person in the world.

Posted By: manidhar

Hi friends,

As some of our friends said that love is the part of our life I to agree with that point but now a day I had never seen the true loves between people. Especially the young people think it as passion and some people do it for time pass and one more obstacle in love is that if they are the true lovers there will be some problems with their families. Dont estimate love with money its great.

My message to lovers is that love is not just for enjoying but it is also a part of responsibility in your life.

I wish u all the Happy valentine's day!!!

Posted By: koneru9999

Hi Friends,

I agree what my friend manidhar said that love is also a part of responsibility in our life.

Posted By: ms4u65

Hi friends,

I am a staunch oppose of Valentines Day as we have borrowed the concept from the foreigners. I don’t think there should be anything like Valentines Day. It is just waste of our time and resources.

Moreover, if u wants to express love to ur mate u don’t need a particular day for that!!! U can do it whenever u wants.

Posted By: csekayal

Hai,

It is not important so much. Some youth are wasting her time & life in such days.

But it is important for couples that have already married.

So. Friends think of it & do better.

Posted By: devamanohari

OK friends

Without our knowledge we have entered in to the topic of love ... can anybody define????

Come with open and clear opinions...

Thank you.

Posted By: rathour

Hi frnds

As mS4u told definitely it’s a borrowed conept, it’s only a way to enjoy .it also ruining our Indian culture. And I feel that to share our love there is not a specific day at every instant we can celebrate our true feelings that leach from bottom of our heart, to anyone. Why we don’t celebrate RADHA-Krishna’s day instead of Valentine’s Day? And commercially sale price of roses n gifts increases.

But frnds, now we have adapted a lot of things from western culture so now why we r neglecting this V'day its a modern culture to enjoy and 2 understand each other .it also based on Krishna’s era which gives the message of love to all human beings.

Some date shd for one celebration in life...because of so much... workload .I feel that its not only a day 4 lovers its 4 all. We can share our feelings to any body without any fear. And a rose can do those miracles which r cant by words.

Posted By: meera

Hi friends,

Valentines day is the more special day for lovers to share their love and spend time 4 them

Really a nice topic to discuss...well valentines day is a day to think y it is when am watching TV.coz many ppls again sting this day they just need to do something different so they did. So leave that ppls.valentines day is a day to share the feelings if we are really a busiest ppls.coz care and love it not able to tell cum out from my heart and wish to the partner as am love u...love is will cum anytime any secs when he/she really needs the person caring according to the age. LUV is not for only to lovers its for all child baby to grandparents also to my cute and sweet dogs.ok but this day its just to remind someone will expecting for our love/care so we spend time to that persons truly and hearty...

Indian villages-our strength or our weakness?

Replies:

Posted By: ssrkraju

Hi All,

Indian Villages - The name itself brings in a lot of happiness and fun-filled memories. The place where we can smell the land, we can see all-round greenery and peace far away from the chaos and hustle life of cities. The calmness and serenity of the atmosphere sends is in itself a positive outlook.

Village is the place where our daily rice/wheat comes from. It is the place where our daily commodities like sugar, honey, tea, coffee, milk, oil, wood, etc comes from. The list is endless. The credit for ecological balance also goes for the villages where the trees take care of the pollution that we create in cities. The term village itself signifies Strength. It is truly termed as the backbone of India. A developed India need not abolish its villages. The cities and villages have to go hand in hand to achieve considerable progress. The GDP growth where other sectors are scoring more is due to the fact that they have been stressed more and more amount of inputs are being diverted to these sectors. Consider 1960's where the green revolution has provided India with enough food stocks that it could even export food. It could be a pathetic stage for a country like India to import food for its citizens. We still do remember the Bengal's starving where thousands of people died lack of food. India may grow be leaps and bounds in IT; Industrial, and other sectors in cities but Villages are going to stay as a major strength for any developing country like India.

Hello

Indian villages-our strength or our weakness?

Well they are strength to our nation

1 it contribute to POLITICS

2 They bring AGRICULTURE to maximum level

3 They also do revolutions when things get complicated infact necessary for our nation

Well things shud be changed a lot

Posted By: sidhu

Indian villages-our strength or our weakness?

Hi friends,

Yes I agree with soumya to say that Indian villages are strength rather then weakness, even though our country developing in sectors like science & technology but

At the same time we have to agree that our economy depends a lot upon agriculture sector, which is in turn, depends upon village farmers.

Indian villages are existing still b'coz of their great tradition & values, even though there is lack of infrastructure for the farmer to farm agriculture land still they are growing seeds in their land due to their great will power which makes feel India to be a proud nation.

So friends I m very happy to say that Indian villages are strength to the nation.

Posted By: dpak

Hi people,

Indian villages are our strength, bcoz they contribute the maximum for our agricultural sector as pointed out by soumya and sidhu. But I would like to add by saying, most of our Indian population (more than 70%)lie in the villages.lately, these people are moving into the cities to find jobs and for a better living and end up in slums. Therefore I feel the government shud develop the rural areas (other than agriculture) and provide more job opportunities to them, so that they could be stopped from migrating into the cities (and eventually end up in slums-which has to be eradicated from he cities). Moreover, this way they can utilize the population of the villages to develop their own villages and hence also our economy. It’s high time our villages are developed!!!!

Posted By: satyadev

I too agree what my friends told...

Villages are the Core Parts to India,

In all aspects People in Villages are contributing for Nations Health and wealth, Agriculture ...Handicrafts...etc

We have to support the People in Indian Villages for their growth our Nations economy, by providing all the facilities for their work.

Posted By: rhea

As most of my friends have mentioned here that villages are undoubtedly the strength of the nation I like to add few points here that as the bricks, though too small, form the base of a huge structure, the villages are also the backbone of the economy, politics, and population of a country. And when it comes to a country like India whose economy even today, largely depends on agriculture we cannot deny the contribution of the Indian villages. Moreover the small scale industries, handicrafts take an important role in the growth of the economy.

Event though we have become strong in technology we cannot deny the manpower which comes from the large population of the villages.

The concentrated population in Indian villages determines largely the fate of Indian politics.

So I must conclude that we should take care to strengthen our this strength by providing proper education, healthcare, awareness, and required help in other sectors.

Posted By: cishawsharma

Obviously our villages are our strength. But we are unable to recognize the importance of our villages. Our villages are the hubs of our nations economy. And our culture and heritage is our village. But due to some climatic conditions some of our villages are still poor and economically backward. New technology must be introduced into our villages. The most serene and beautiful places in our country are only villages not cities

Hi everybody,

I accept this point. Now a days marriages going on tender. It is just like an agreement between two families. If a lady coming with money when marrying, she treats well. Otherwise she treats badly. She will meet many problems in her husband's house.

Posted By: Keerthi

Hello friends,

A must topic to be discussed I feel. Yes " Marriages have become a good business" to earn lakhs and crores even. Today a guy u studies in US demands at least 10 lakhs and the highest limit can be anything .I feel people prefer to do MS just to make business.

I heard about some people who are not ready even to see the girl, If her parents cannot afford to give MIN amount, though she is good at attitude studies and good looking as well.

I don’t know what Marriage is to do with the money when both the persons have good qualifications to settle well in life. Infact the importance must be given to the people who are going to marry, the decision must be given to them bcoz they are the ones who are going to live together for the rest of the life.

Daily we see a lot of news about the women being harassed and killed just for the sake of dowry. What kind of person he is when he is ready to kill his partner for the sake of money. In my view such persons must be given a death sentence. And government should take severe action on the persons who accept dowry.

We see many politicians daily giving long speeches against this issue, but what happens when it comes to his own daughters or sons marriage, God only knows how much they give or take.

And some parents in the rich families take it as a prestige issue. I think they feel the one whom takes/gives more money is very great. So I feel this system must be eliminated in rich families first.

Posted By: OOPS

I 100% agree with Keerthi.

Beggars are better than the people who take dowry. Parents should change their attitude towards taking dowry.

Even I have seen many girls who suggest their brothers to take dowry.

It is a sick attitude. Lot of males playing with female life just because of dowry. We should punish the people who take dowry.

It’s becoming a dangerous issue in poor class families. It is very sad to know that even few idiots ready to kill their best half just for dowry. If they give birth to a baby girl they are just throwing them in dustbin. Think for a while?

These days 80% males want to study in US or want to work in US just to take more dowries. What a sick attitude? We have to punish these educated idiots. Even I have seen many of friends going to US or UK just to take more dowries. Yes its 100% purely a business now in India in fact it is a growing business.

As a guy my suggestion to other guys:

Marry a girl but not money. Money is sick it just come & go in our life but your wife will stay with you till your final breath. You cannot measure a girl with money. She is more than any amount of money. It’s our responsibility to protect them If not soon you will see a world with out these angles

Start changing the attitude of your parents & sisters towards taking dowry.

** Think of our culture once " INDIA is the only place where a female has a lot respect “ But now wts happening?

Posted By: Dr YVS

Well, I differ. Business has always a buyer, a seller. Who is who here? As long as marriage is an institution and parents believe, they shall get a good bride (groom), they pay a price, Ise. To the extent of dowry one can argue of business. Not the whole process. With the literacy in women increasing, their % at jobs increasing, current day parent are worried on Love marriages and related pains like suicide, killing etc. Marriages are business to Marriage halls, Flower guys, Shamiana guys, caterers etc.

Posted By: Sriya

I do feel marriages have become a business in India. Marriage is not be seen as a business where the bridegroom is tagged an heavy price n the bride's parents want it to buy at any cost. Why should the bride's parents give dowry for the bridegroom n his family members???? This is a burning issue, which needs immediate attention. It's in our hand to se that the dowry problem gets curbed. Every man must think in a proper way, so that marriage can regain its lost sanctity.

Posted By: Keerthi

Yes I too feel marriage process is not business, it is to be respected a lot. But many are making it a business for the sake of dowry.

Why not all of us stop accepting/giving dowry when some people are killing the women for sake of money. Can’t we give up this system for protecting many more lives? I think life is more important than money.

Yes parents want to get good brides, but I think money is not the solution for that. Better understanding about each other’s families is important here. I think there is no need of bringing money matter here.

Posted By: HELP

Yah we agree with you all

What are the better solutions for this problem? Explain point wise if you can...

Posted By: Keerthi

The only better solution is punishment, bcoz this matter is related to money.

I feel we can expect a change in many other matters. But greed for money cannot be wiped out completely.

Posted By: OOPS

Yah it the biggest motive for all these people. These people should know there are many things in our life, which we can't get through money.

Are marriages becoming a business in India?

  • Rating: Unrated

Posted By: Mohanraai

Well Guys,

As all said is good. This problem begins with where, we have to note down. When the people went to brides home, first start an arguments (How much dowry) with relatives and parents (especially mothers). So this will start with ladies only. If we start like this, once again it will create arguments in different way. So leave it and think. Now a days parents and people are living for society expectations. We have to live for our self not for neibourhoods.

My suggestions is

1. This problem will rectify only future generation. If u gives some suggestion to others can't get. So if u would like to marry don't get dowry and ur children’s.

2. Give suggestions to ur close relatives others won't get ur suggestion. If they convinced, its ur power.

We can reduce this business also in future, if we take steps.

Posted By: Links571

As with everyone else even I agree that marriage is fast becoming a business in India. This is not just the fault with the brides or groom s family but it is just the problems that link these issues. With unemployment increasing men are looking to make their life a little safer by indulging in these kinds of activities. Educating people about this is in no way going to stop the problem because, it is the people who are educated whom r making these mistakes. Making them know their limitations of accessing money like this and strict regulations can only stop this by the government. Youths should understand that following such stupid customs is just stupid. Making rules just wont stop these activities. But curbing people of having illicit income like these can be stopped and in turn dowry.

But there also exists the other kind of people who think marriage is larger than life and believe in each other. People should learn from their examples. This I think is the best way to curb the problem.

Posted By: Keerthi

I think this is a kind of prejudice among the people that only women [mother-in-law] is the cause, well this is due to influence of old movies where the mother-in-law is the only one who is greedy and harasses the daughter-in-law .We cant say only women, but both are the cause .Any one can be greedy about money.

I appreciate the suggestion given by mohanraai, and hope we all succeed in eliminating dowry system in India.

Posted By: Madhuri

I think marriages are becoming business today. Change in attitude of the girl’s parents is must. While getting married to their daughter they should see whether the person is US returned or he can good pay but they should see whether that person is good and family is good and is he money minded?

Before all this even girl's attitude should also change. First she should be independent and she should be given chance while choosing life partner.

Posted By: Sowmya571

Yes I do agree with all your views. But can u all please answer my question. Can we start punishing each n every person.... who does crimes like that? In India where Govt is ruled by RICH PEOPLE who have money n power well considering all these facts. Some things can’t be changed. Rather we can bring awareness amongst ALL GROUPS OF PEOPLE, CHILDREN, and ELDERS AS WELL AS YOUNGSTERS who will get married in future. Well as keerthi and others has said ... People are not even considering whether the female is good, has got good capabilities. Rather than asking so many dowries.... what ever might be...? CHANGE SHUD HAPPEN WITH IN EACH OF US. So that we will be an example for future citizens....

This is what I feel realistically

Posted By: Radkrish

The best way to eliminate dowry is to make it a needless one.

Neglect arranged marriage. Prefer for love marriage (with ur true partner)

Love, love, love.... true love. It will make dowry to be proud of love and can make the dowry a needless one.

Love marriage should rise in India.

Posted By: Shatrughana

I am agreeing above all points. Marriage become business now a days cause today’s some people don’t think about groom how is should be generally every parent think about "PARTY DENEWALA HAI KI NAHI".

Second is some people think about as if some family member dot able to study in Abroad so in that case family member thinks CHALO SHADHI KAR LETE HAI " they don’t think how girls are and what is qualifications are.

So now a days Marriage is agreement between to party.

Posted By: Csekayal

Yes I accept all my friends’ pt

Today some marriages are in-between the spindermotors and the ford cars, not for two heart.

Some person selects their couples according to their degree, to improve their business.

For eg: doctors are joint with doctor, similarly engg, etc.

They are not giving important to their heart.

To avoid this government must take some action against these.

Posted By: Sriya

I disagree with Radhika; love marriage is not the solution to the problem. We have come across many cases where in-laws have troubled their daughters-in law after marriage also. The only solution to this problem lies in the hands of the youth. They should stop taking dowry. The govt should impose punishment on all the dowry takers irrespective of their social status.

What is the effect of movies on youth. (Is it good or bad)?

  • Rating: Unrated

Posted By: keerthi

Hello friends,

The Indian movies greatly effect our youth. The main purpose of watching movies is for the sake of entertainment or to have some relief. Every thing is ok till that point. But when we see a movie definitely we grasp something from that, some people may grasp good and some bad.

The general attitude of the people is they quickly grasp bad things and they over look good. If something good is depicted in movies they usually say it’s "over" or sentimental.

And most of our movies in India are love oriented and there is nothing creative about them.99% of the movies are based on a love story. These are influencing the youth to a great extent. Once our Indian culture is that a girl and a boy marries with the consent of their parents and well-wishers.

But now by seeing the movies people try to imitate the characters in a movie. Most of them are committing suicides if they fail in love. Love is just a part of life why should one give up every thing if they fail in love.

I think Indian movies should improve in certain aspects. The only motive of the directors and filmmakers is to gain more collections from movies. They should not think in that way. A movie can influence many minds. So they must think well before making a movie. They should see that they are creative and in some way different from routine.

Posted By: sowmya571

Hello

Yes keerthi ur right

Indian movies have good effect on youth ... they provoke many things like violence, love. Well not all movies are like that some are good too like RANG DE BASANTHI latest one which gives inspiration to YOUTH watt they shud contribute to INDIA, how politician are, ect...

Well rather than focusing on LOVE they shud promote inspiration to YOUTH, WAT THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THEM so that our nation will progress.

THEY SHUD BE IMPROVED ALOT

Posted By: Njoy

I agree with keerthi & sowmya.

Movies like PAGE 3 (HINDI), AA NAluguru (Telugu) are really exemplary.

Posted By: keerthi

U r right soumya. There are a very few movies like "rang de basanthi” which we can count with our fingertips. Hats why I said about 99% are love oriented .The remaining 1% may come under that category. I may be wrong in numerical statistics but most of them are love oriented, as we all know.

Posted By: Njoy

It is not possible to make all movies, which will inspire youth. Producers etc etc people they need to earn money for that Love & action movies are very important for them.

Here the main thing is everything depends on " Person attitude & How he/she is reconvening the movie “ If we find any good thing in movie just adopt it into our real life If not just leave those things there in picture palace.

Go through this small story: A person asked a great painter how you painted that beautiful paint?

Painter said before painting it on the paper I painted it in my heart & brain “ That’s it.

We are all just like painters in our life. If you paint yourself as a successful person in your heart & brain yes 100% you will become a success full person. We should fallow our own ethics & values to make a difference.

Posted By: sowmya571

Hello

Yes santhosh ur right, as there are many kinds of people who have varied interest. So are they much kind of movies to entertain them in different ways.

Posted By: meenakshisekar

Hi all

Whatever u are all saying is 100 percent right as we people have the flexible mind, whatever we see our mind will start to work out on those?

The responsibilities shud be shared both by cini field and also by youngsters.

Since cine producers on their part want to reap what they've sowed hence they don’t think of social responsibilities.

But as we are grown up youths we ourselves will have rational thinking and we ourselves will be able to classify things as need and neednots.hence we shud extract only good things and not the bad.

Posted By: 02091A0342

There is a great impact of movies on youth most part of which is negative. When a person watches a movie of his favorite he tries to

Imitate him. There are many practical proofs that there are people who started smoking by watching movies. Example is my uncle itself.

It is a good move by the govt to ban cigarettes in movies and serials. But this should be followed strictly.

The censor board must work strictly keeping in mind our moral and cultural values. It is the right of the producers to expect huge profits when they invest huge amounts. But in the process of making money they should impart some cultural values in youth.

Posted By: cishawsharma

We Indians are obsessed with movies. Every Indian likes to watch movies and yes there is an effect on us.

Some films like rdb must be encouraged. They shud have some effect on our lives. And not major effect but the dressing and make up will surly effect girls

Globalization - Advantages & Disadvantages

  • Rating: Unrated

Posted By: BINNY

Globalization has many advantages for developing and developed countries. But, this has lead to a great dissatisfaction among the under developed/developing countries. Though Liberalization has many impacts on any country's economy, it has increased the per capita income.

Due to globalization the business market in the world has no boundaries, they can market their products in any part of the world. This has improved the chances of laying hands on global markets & technologies, which would definitely increase our Quality of Living Standards.

But globalization has lead to a major dissatisfaction among under developed/developing countries where they are cut off from the rest of the world. This has also increased the chances of inferiority complex among these nations.

Posted By: sowmya571

Hello

" Globalization - Advantages & Disadvantages "

The Era of Globalization" is fast becoming the preferred term for describing the current times. Just as the Depression, the Cold War Era, the Space Age, and the Roaring 20's are used to describe particular periods of history; globalization describes the political, economic, and cultural atmosphere of today.

People around the globe are more connected to each other than ever before. Information and money flow more quickly than ever. Goods and services produced in one part of the world are increasingly available in all parts of the world. International travel is more frequent. International communication is commonplace. This phenomenon has been titled "globalization." These are major advantages of globalization

While some people think of globalization as primarily a synonym for global business, it is much more than that. The same forces that allow businesses to operate as if national borders did not exist also allow social activists, labor organizers, journalists, academics, and many others to work on a global stage.

There is a fundamental problem with globalization, which will cause international tension and trade disputes without arresting the process.

The problem is the irrational nature of the global market, coupled with the extreme vulnerability of the poorest and most marginalized in emerging economies to sudden changes in exchange, interest rates, or big investment decisions. Globalization therefore can sometimes be destabilizing.

Everyone sells when the price is already rock-bottom You can have a bizarre situation where everyone privately thinks that the currency is already too low, but continues to sell hard only because they are certain that everyone else thinks the currency still has further to fall. Rates fall through the floor in a mass wave of panic selling, as dealers dump currency in the near certain knowledge that they can buy it back at a profit in a few minutes, hours or days.

Well it has got tremendous benefits as well as its own pitfalls

Posted By: suji

Hi friends

Globalization - Advantages

Some Advantages r

  • Increased free trade between nations

  • Increased liquidity of capital allowing investors in developed nations to invest in developing nations

  • Corporations have greater flexibility to operate across borders

  • Global mass media ties the world together

  • Increased flow of communications allows vital information to be shared between individuals and corporations around the world

  • Greater ease and speed of transportation for goods and people

Hi.

Globalization Disadvantages

Some Disadvantages

  • Increased flow of skilled and non-skilled jobs from developed to developing nations as corporations seek out the cheapest labor

  • Increased likelihood of economic disruptions in one nation affecting all nations

  • Corporate influence of nation-states far exceeds that of civil society organizations and average individuals

  • Threat that control of world media by a handful of corporations will limit cultural expression

  • Greater chance of reactions for globalization being violent in an attempt to preserve cultural heritage

  • Greater risk of diseases being transported unintentionally between nations

  • Spread of a materialistic lifestyle and attitude that sees consumption as the path to prosperity

  • International bodies like the World Trade Organization infringe on national and individual sovereignty

  • Increase in the chances of civil war within developing countries and open war between developing countries as they vie for resources

  • Decreases in environmental integrity as polluting corporations take & advantage of weak regulatory rules in developing countries

BALANCE BETWEEN PROFESSIONALISM AND FAMILY

  • Rating: Unrated
  • Posted By: sidhu

Balance between professionalism and Family is to be maintained in every individual life, avoiding any of these would create uncertainty in a individual life, because both gives identification to an individual, it is like railway track, if one of the track is damaged means there will be every chance for train to be derailed, so as in life, professionalism & family plays same role.

Posted By: vinvish

Professionalism and family can be described as the two sides of the same coin as both are equally important in one's life. Our profession gives you an individual identity and financial security on the other hand family gives you an emotional security. Neglecting any one of these could result in distress in one's life. A balance has to be maintained between the two, which is very easy to say, but to do it in practical is very difficult. In today's hitech busy lifestyle one cannot find the time to spend with his family. In Bangalore we have seen that there is increase in the number of people going to psychologists to get counseling on how to handle the stress and tension. The people of today are more inclined towards their profession and hence they get very little time to spend with their family. They may lead a luxurious life but there is absence of peace of mind.

Posted By: moni

Hi all,

Family gives mental strength to a person and the professionalism gives a man financial strength, and high status (luxurious) lifestyle in society. But if a man has all things but he didn't have any peace or calmness through out his life means it is utter waste of earning the money alone. Therefore professionalism and the family play a vital role in ones life, so we can't avert any one of these. It (professionalism and the family) looks like two eyes of a man. We can’t bear if any one gets lost.

Posted By: keerthi

Hello friends,

I agree wid u all. Professionalism as well as family both is very essential for an individual. One needs to be financially in a good position to achieve any thing, which also needs the good support from his/her family. But it is not that family support is a must to achieve some thing. Many great people have become great though they have less or no support from family.

When it comes to maintaining a balance between the both I think its not possible in all the cases. As our friend "Vinvish" said it is easy to say but very difficult to do in practice. And To achieve our goals sometimes we need to sacrifice our family. Take for example the people in the army, in order to sever the country they have to stay away from their families. As it is mandatory. Hence balance between the both depends on ones profession and their ability to maintain that.

Posted By: mohanraai

Hi all,

I agree with all. Both we need now a days, bcz should need spend time with family to relax in our machine life. Otherwise as one of friend said to relax we r going to psychotics. We can spend more time with family. Profession is need but not life is a profession.

Life is now a full of money.

Life is a full of joy and no need of much more money. Now a day’s people r moving to save money and earn money.

Money is needed but limited money is enough for peace of mind.

"Your r the owner of money, not money is the owner for u"

Posted By: kiran123

Hi all!!! I agree with u people. In ancient days people gave much preference to family but now a days the more importance is goes to job only Y because today the life cost is very very high.

And also many people prefer luxurious life for this they are working like robos. I mean they are becoming workaholic people they will work at night shifts.

So not spend your voluble time for earning money but also spend with ur family tats give u more strength. I mean u get a lot mental ability.

In these if any one is going wrong the life will become uncertain. So people don’t become robos we r human beings. In life these two are two wheels of cart.

Posted By: sreenu3442003

Yes momi 100% I agree with u.professionalism and family both are very essential. For getting financial support Professionalism required. For mental support family is required. Do not neglect any one. Without family support we cannot get any things mean Pease of mind. With mind balance we can achieve more than what we r expecting in presence of hard work. So we should manage time to spend with family. Do not postpone any work. We should spend weekends with family. So we must maintain balance Professionalism between families. Then only satisfaction to us. We are not satisfied only with money. We can face some problems with family without money. So both r essential

Posted By: sowmya571

Hello

Yes I agree to this. 100% since both are important in life. Nothing can be ignored. As responsibilities increase we have more load coming on us in work. It is with family as we move to certain age

Posted By: faraz

Balance between professionalism and family is a delicate issue that has been plaguing Indians these days. If u wants to have a professional mindset then you have to devote your time to the company. But, family is of importance as well. So, the juggling act of balancing both these things is very important, as you have to come to terms with reality and manage time to satisfy both. Its difficult as your child and family needs time and energy to give the warmth and affection that it is of significance as well.

Posted By: rathour

I agreed wid all of u.as every one knows that professionalism and family are two part of same coin.definetly family gives mental support & always stand for us at every moment. But professionalism has most imp 4 individual bcoz every one need to be financially in a good position to achieve any thing. As "kreethi" that’s right many great people have become great though they have less or no support from family.

But make a better life there should be balance b/w these two factor.bcoz I think if we don’t have money our life bcms like a puzzle.

So to give support and to take support 1stly we should also be able to supports others.

Hello all...

In my opinion balance between professionalism and family is one of the vital ingredient in today's world that further contribute to the Happiness recipe of one's life...both family and profession are important for the survival of an individual. As profession paves a way for earning the livelihood, contributing towards fulfilling the basic necessities of life...and further provides us a platform wherein one can fulfill one’s fantasies and dreams.... and further family provides us the moral and emotional support which is very much needed to be successful in professional world. A good family back further initiates the continuous flow of energy and support, which further paves for successful professional life. As one can’t concentrate on work if there are tensions at home then one can't concentrate on work ...so a clear-cut and rich balance is needed to be successful in life...

............One can't with do by leaving any one of the two so the balance needs to be maintained.............

Posted By: mallika_saggi

I do agree with keeerthi there may have been many gr8 people who have reached 2 heights and that 2 without the support of family....................but in my opinion what is the use of going to such a height where u r no longer able to see near and dear one's around.... man is a social animal and we can't live alone and further sacrificing family n going 2 top doesn't serve purpose. We may reach to top but what will be the use of that thing when there’ll be none around...the path of balancing is defiantly not smooth but then we can always spare some time for our family can't we? Reaching top is ever person's dream n in my opinion it can be fulfills in better way if we have support of family.... ignoring then for heights may lead us there but then they won't be there.............and money is not everything...it is imp no doubt but then we also require our family for many reasons at various stages of life..............and only running after profession at the cost of family may give one fame, glory, heights n all but the thing that won't be there will be MENTAL PEACE. Something which we can't afford to ignore...............and further there is no priority here there is no comparison we can't leave one and go for other.... both of these need to go side by side. Leaving either one doesn't solve the purpose..

Hi frnz,

I agree with u all. And in my opinion BALANCE BETWEEN PROFESSIONALISM AND FAMILY is very much required. These days man became money minded and he is trying to lead luxurious life. For that he is missing his family members love and affection and working hard for money. Of course some persons are even forgetting some of the sweetest days in his life like his bday and his family members bdays etc. He is fully concentrating on how to earn money. If we concentrate only on professionalism we may get fame and money but we loose many sweetest moments in our life. First give importance to well wishers and family members. Next preference to frship and next to money. And always remember that we must preserve something (2 cups of coffee) to share with frnz.

Even though we reach 2 heights if we don’t have any one to appreciate or to comment on our work or behavior, it counts nothing.

Posted By: ankit.k.saxena

Hi frnds

What I believe that there should b a balance between the professional life a personal life as we have our responsibilities towards both our job and the family and neither of them can b overlooked. Both these things sld have a balance maintained between them. Both r essential in there own way and can't be mingled or else cld create problematic situations.

We have our responsibilities towards the job as we r paid for that work, and also we have our responsibilities towards our family, as it’s their support, which is making us strong enough to execute the job and to handle the pressure

So the catch line here is that:

We r the river held by professionalism and family which r the two banks of river that should not meet

Posted By: winner

Hi friends

What I think is balance between professionalism and only most eminent person can do family. Because if we think that we need money to propagate in this world, then we have to concentrate more on our profession. As in our country, mostly middle class occupies, so if we are fully interested in our profession and if we are good enough to hold both profession in an efficient way then it is better else we should concentrate on anyone and make our life bright.

Hi friends '

I think professionalism and family r different from one another. We shud b professional by work but even we shud not 4get that we r social animal and we have some responsibility 4 Ur family also.

ponsibility Of Politicians in Today’s Politics How to reduce corruption in Indian Politics

  • Rating: Unrated

Posted By: sowmya571

Hello

Well today’s Indian politics is mainly corrupted. Well though there are people who really want to contribute, their efforts r not getting done. There are very less people like chandrababu Naidu who really is disciplined, hard working and thoughtful 4 people

It is the responsibility of youngsters to take part in IAS as well IPS to help our INDIA, India needs still development in enhancement of Farmers, since there is tremendous loss for our farmers in past few years due to drought and floods ... And facilities in rural areas also shud be improved a lot like setting up more internet centers as well as many Colleges with good faculties etc.

Politicians are misusing their power and are striving more 4 power n money rather than implementing what they have promised to our nation

In order to reduce these kind of acts our people who elect them shud be educated, and analyze the persons background and capabilities before voting them. Also politician’s shud follow some ethics in performing their duties

Then INDIA wd be progressed a lot

Posted By: meenakshisekar

Hi all

The topic given is quite intersting.b's whatever may be the societal problem if we go on browse through it ultimately u'll find out that corruption will be the basic reason for it.

It starts right from the basic (smaller level like oa's) itself and it is the root cause for all the problems.

Politicians need to play an active role in abolishing corruption. But no one is thinking of it they are thinking people as vote banks and forget them after they've won the elections.

Posted By: Krishna

Hello,

This is very interesting Topic. But as Sowmya Told that the Former Chief Minister of Andhra Prudish is a hard worker...I too agree. But one person cannot do the whole changes.

But in our country...how many politicians are well educated? So, we who r electing them is not paying any attention to the person who is in race. Uneducated people don't think of all these things.

Even the politicians are thinking that Politics is the way where they can earn more money in a short spell. Even these politicians are not even allowing the hard working Officials (I.A.S, I.P.S etc.). Now days we have seen many situations in the newspaper about the harassment of the politicians on Officials.

So. Every Parents and person is thinking that we must become Software Engineer, Doctor etc. But how many are thinking that we must become a politician except the heirs of these Politicians.

In olden days, when the King dies, his son is becoming the King. The same is going on now days.

All that I say is, now a day’s literacy is going high in India. So every one should think about the person who is in race and vote for the best.

03. Have long-term vision than selfish immediate vote bank vision.

04. Avoid gundas, convicts in party

05. Take oath that, whether we are in govt or not, our main aim is stronger Mother country.

06. Have united face in Foreign policy.

07. Be models to the young ladsd of India.

08. Preserve culture.

09. As you are elected, understand the role and play

10. Work for your constituency

Hi

Our country is highly corrupted. We are given a chance to elect our leaders, but we are not using it in a proper way. We need to elect a leader who is honest, well educated and trust-worthy. We are being carried away by the tall promises, which the leaders make during their campaign. A leader who looses to fulfill his promises must never be re-elected. To reduce corruption in our politics is like looking for a pie in the sky, which will never happen. The best way to see our leaders lining their pockets is by putting cameras in their offices.

Posted By: mohanraai

Well guys, this is hard to answer for this topic. Bc'z we have to talk more for this topic from low level to top level. All r said we have to choose the person whom should be educated and honorable person and all. Any person now a days, plan to enter politics, he have the mind to get more money than what we spent to for the election. So the mind is set to earn the money even though the person was educated and our person also (around with him) said to him" we can get 2/3 months".

This is very difficult to bring India as non-corruption. bcz the situation is like this. If u r a good politician in ur area. But where the low level person with u and higher-level person with u are corrupted fellow, then u can't survey in that place. Once u transferred to other place or some harassment will happen with that guys.

Hello friends,

In my view Today’s politics is nothing but earning money. I think the only way to over come this trend is to reduce corruption first .We cannot stop corruption by scolding any one or giving punishment to person who is caught red handedly. That may not stop other people from taking bribes. But instead they will proceed in other way in order not to get caught.

I think the better solution to this problem lies in the hands of Youth. If we stop giving bribes and don’t encourage a person who takes/gives bribes then this may be solved to certain extent.

The most disquieting aspect of the widespread corruption in India is the fact that it is not anymore confined to politicians or the government machinery alone. It is prevalent amongst almost every section of the society at every level.

As the practice of corruption is a dishonest act, one has to think that most of the Indians are dishonest, which could be different only in degree between the individuals. As the reason for the dishonesty is greediness and the desire to get things done at any cost one can think that most of the country men are greedy and do not anymore think that the means should justify the ends. This is not a flattering statement and many readers would desire that it would not be so and such statement could have been avoided. But, the fact is that most of the Indians are involved in corrupt practices in one way or the other, either due to greed or due to so called compulsion. In any case, the willingness to sacrifice for the sake of not getting involved in corrupt dealings is conspicuous by its absence amongst the most.

Today, if one would say that any particular Indian is honest to the core, it could only be a case of exception rather than a rule.

The study of world phenomenon on corruption has repeatedly branded India as one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Unfortunately, this view has not disturbed most of the Indians at all and they do not seem to care as to what others think of them; so long as the existing systems and practices would allow them to make money and get things done in one way or the other.

The irony is that India is still considered to be a very religious country and it is still widely believed that the religion is the basis of Indian life, thoughts and actions. This is obviously true, considering the fact that there are hundreds of temples, churches and mosques spread all over the country and they are all densely visited day in and day out by the feverishly praying Indians.

Is not religious ethos contrary to corruption and dishonest practices? The unfortunate situation in India is that those who call themselves most religious are often found to have indulged themselves in dishonest practices on many occasions. Several of the religious centers, of all religions, are suspected to be steeped in nepotism; as such incidents have been repeatedly published in the press.

It does not shock Indians anymore to know that the politicians, ministers and IAS & IPS officers are corrupt but even the judges, professors, doctors and NGO organizations are.

Corruption is not only prevalent amongst rich who are greedy in spite of possessing enough but also prevalent amongst poor.

Now, what can be the future of the Indian society in such conditions? It can be only frustration, chaos, unrest and even bloodshed in the not too distant future. This kind of corruption in the national polity and public and private life cannot go on forever, without disturbing the overall peace in the society. It is sad that those who are in charge of the nation today do not appear to realize this and still are merrily going ahead with their dealings unconcerned about the harm that it would inevitably do to the larger national cause.

What is very sad and extremely disquieting about this country is that Ministers suspected to be involved in murder. Chief ministers of swindling crores of public money, senior police officers of molestation charges are all living in comforts and enjoying positions, thus effectively exposing the fact that the crusade against corruption has finally failed in India.

Even as the vicious cycle of corruption would continue with one swindling the other, there could be a number of persons who would be left out of this cycle due to inefficiency or commitment to the cause of truth and such persons would be driven down to despair.

The incidents of history indicate that some of such persons who are out of the corruption loop could take up the war against corruption at one time or the other. But, they would find that in a corruption entrenched system, they would not be able to improve the conditions and therefore, a few of them may finally take to physical attack on corrupt and dishonest persons, leading to violence and bloodshed. Security, dogs and mere police rifles will not be able to beat down such determined crusaders.

The politicians and bureaucrats would call such crusaders as arsonists or terrorists. But, history would judge them differently. There are a number of determined isolated war groups already existing in the country and they are generally branded as terrorist groups and treated brutally by the state machinery, without investigating the reasons for their existence. One would shudder to think as what would happen to the peace of the society, if such groups would enlarge in size and number.

Hello friends....

Well to begin with as we all know corruption is one of the many prevailing evils in our country and like all it's we the normal public only who is responsible for it's continuous growth. So now actually coming over to politics one of the most corrupted fields in today's world. Politics of any country is one such strong base, which is further responsible for all round growth, and the well-managed country and further it's citizens. So in that respect the role of politics is very vital politicians play a warm role in shaping up a country and like a slight mistake by a pot maker can spoil a pot, a corrupted politics can be equally hazardous for a countryman specially in developing countries like India the role of politics is very crucuial. Politicinas thus has t be an honest and responsible soul completely dedicated to the well being of the nation and in that respect must be hardworking and willing too go to even deeper waters for the welfare of the nation....................

...................Politicians must make effective and innovative plans for the continuous improvement of the nation and shud be able to go to any extent to execute them, they must chandelier our youth, who are the storehouse of new ideas and energy in the fruitful direction.........to get the desired and effective results, A politics is one such base on which the infrastructure of any country lies.

Now coming over to second thing that is how to reduce corruption in politics. So for that first of all we the citizens of the country shud choose our leaders carefully its' we al who are responsible in the making of the govement, the ruling dynasty which governs country and so utmost care shud be taken in doing the same and further corruption is something which begins at root level and slowly and steadily demolishes the entire country so it should be eradicated at the root level only that that is first of all it shud be remove starting from by our self. And then continuing at higher levels if individually we are successful in eradicating corruption out our life and our normal life then it want grow at nation's level...so first of all we must keep in mind CORRUPTION BEGINS WITH US AND WILL END, ONCE WE BEGIN WITH US...

Posted By: mallika_saggi

I HIGHLY DISAGRRE WITH MR. MOHANRAI TAHT ITS DIFFICULT TO BRING INDIA AS NON-CORRUPTION, JUST BECOZ ANYTHING IS DIFFICULT IT DOESN;'TMEAN WE SHUD STOP TRYING IT JUST MEANS THAT WE SHUD JUST TRY HARDER, ITS OUR COUNTRY AND IF TEHER ARE LOOPHOLES IN OUR RULING GOVT THEN WE ARE FREEL AND POWERFUL ENOUGH TO ATKE STEPS AGAINST.AND FURTER ONLYS AYING THT ITS DIFFICULT IS NO SOLUTION TO A PROBLEM.EVERY PROBLEM HAS A SOLUTION AND THIS ONE IS NO EXCEPTION AND FURTER THIS LAID BACK APPROACH WILL TAKE US NOWHERE IT MAY BE TOUGH INITIALLY BUT SHUDN;T WE BE ABIT AWARE AND WIILING TO ATKE PAINS FOR THE SAKE OF OUR NATION....A NATION WHICH MAKED US FEEL PROUD..!

IS DOWRY NECESSARY FOR TWO PEOPLE TO GET MARRIED?

  • Rating: Unrated

Posted By: pooja

Hello frnds,

I totally disagree with the concept of dowry I mean we should completely ban this concept. So many women are getting harass and they are getting killed cos of dowry and many of them are taking steps like they are attempting suicides which is a very shameless act so we have got the power we can change the world as only youth can change the world so youth should decide that they are not going to take dowries.

Even taking dowry is a crime but more crime is giving dowries so we should come forward to eradicate it from our society.

Posted By: sowmya571

Hello

Well I totally disagree for the sole reason that a person shud take dowry 4 marriage. Since when compared a guy will jus do a job, but a female will take care of home, her job as well as kids and lot more...

And also what is more important is AFFECTION n LOVE 4 each other rather than all these things. I guess guys shud think reg this and change them

Posted By: Vision

Hey sowmya

My sister always wants me to take dowry & even my Mom too.

Like this lot of females supporting dowry. Not only guys but also girls also should think of it. They better not to enocourage their children and brothers to take dowry.

What you say sowmya?

Have a look at this:

http://www.indianchild.com/dowry_in_india.htm - http://www.indianchild.com/dowry_in_india.htm

Posted By: rathour

Hi frnds

I agreed with "pooja's" view.definetly DOWERY is a curse

Of sociaty.people think if they r taking more dowry they get prestige in society .so there should be awareness.

1stly,it should be banned. Women are getting harass and they are getting killed bcoz of dowry and many of them are taking steps like they are attempting suicides.

We should come forward to eradicate it from our society. But it’s not an easy task. To eradicate the dowry from our sociaty, there should be awareness among youth especially in Indian woman.

There should be awareness from childhood. To give and take dowry both r declared as a crime. If any one is caught he/she should be punished.

Posted By: rathour

Ya VISION ur right frnd so we are youth people .so it’s our duty to stop it. We should aware our family. So I told 1stly Indian women should come forward.

2 For what sake u will use them

A For making ur wife happy

B For giving it to ur parents all the money since they have invested in you, If so the today most of the females are educated what ab them. U guys shud give dowry for gal’s then.isnt it?

C For what (other reasons)

Please answer these questions ya

Posted By: Vision

Well. First of all I do not take dowry. That’s it.

In your previous post you had mentioned this - I guess guys shud think reg this and change themselves -

Well you mean girls need not think about it?

For your entire questions let me give you one answer.

I believe in loving, Sharing, Caring, Encouraging & motivating each other. I like to add harmony to my life with full of affection, love & understanding

Am I mentioned anything about money?

Posted By: Vision

Here we need not change the society. Of course others may not accept your views.

The best solution for this problem is changing the mindset of your family members.

First we need to change our self. After mom, papa, bothers & sisters etc.

What you say friends?

Posted By: BINNY

Hi Everybody,

I DONT agree with any of you. I think it is the prime responsibility of a girl's parents to give dowry. Parents should see that daughter should be given her share after marriage. I think it is responsibility of a girl to demand her parents for dowry.this way she can get her share. (Preventing brothers from eating away Sisters share)

But this should not exceed the agreed upon terms before marriage. I.e. after the marriage.husband should not force his wife to get more dowries. This is the primary reason for Dowry deaths and harassments.

I think Dowry should not be banned. But harassment for more dowries should be banned. Before the marriage we should register the marriage along with the agreed upon dowry and gifts with the Govt.this can prevent harassment for more dowry.

Posted By: sowmya571

Hello

I never told that u will take dowry rather i am jus asking why do need dowry sir thatz all ... Today higher class people can pay lakhs n indeed crores of RS as dowry.but what ab middle class people who don’t have money itself. They harass females after getting married. We are all concerned ab them not all segments...

And also one needs to be individualistic rather than expecting money from others. . If we are capable like have a good job for both n wife we can earn with that all the things this is what I feel ... do not no ab others...

Posted By: Madhuri

Hi,

Even I agree with u all. Before asking some one to change first we have to change and we should also change our environment around us. Even government should pass strict rules, which may help in rural areas as they can fight against dowry problems. They should conduct awareness programs and bring awareness. And also a girl should get married when she gets minimum qualification by which she can stand on her foot so that if she can stand by her self if any problem come in future.

Posted By: csekayal

DOWRY MAKES MARRIAGE AS BUSINESS.SO, WE WANT TO BAN THIS TYPE OF SYSTEM.

BCOZ OF THIS, MORE WOMEN ARE LOST THEIR LIFE

YOUNGER MUST THINK OF IT AND BAN THIS IN FUTURE!!!!!!!!!

IN MY PT OF VIEW DOWRY IT NOT NECESSARY

Posted By: keerthi

Hi all,

As our friend binny said girls can demand a share from their parents property legally, But not in the name of dowry. Now both boys and girls can excel well in all fields, and there is no differentiation between the two in terms of abilities. Then why should a boy demand dowry from a girl who can earn equally and can take care of the entire family? The only way to eliminate this system from roots is either by the way of punishment depending on the degree of crime, or its our responsibility not to accept or take dowry and don’t encourage any one to take dowry. So its the responsibility of both boys and girls not one.

US war on Iraq-justified or not.

Hello friends,

According to me it is not justified one killing so many innocent people for any one is not fair.

I think war is not the solution of anything. So I completely against of war, which is not at all, justified one.

Posted By: AmitSrivastava

Well, Looking From the Perspective of being in a world where every moment has an impact on you, I wud say it is not justified, but then again what if our neighboring Countries have some one who is a threat to our Country and also to the World, What we wud have done?? I think the same thing.

Posted By: faraz

Well, it’s not justified, as the manner in which US carried out attacks is very barbaric and totally uncalled for. Such big bully attitude will only ruin the image of its allies and US.

Posted By: cishawsharma

I feel it as purely economic strategy.

As US is a powerful nation and it can make any tom and dick stories to advertise that Iraq is a N-nation.

And no one will dare to point out that its wrong.

Why did US &UK try to show sympathy and try to step into the land of Iraq? Why not any other country.

The answer is fairly transparent.

Any country, which has abundant oil deposits, will rule the world and unfortunately Iraq is having abundant deposits of oil...

And these countries try to exploit it and named it as "n-nation ". Eventually which lead to the war.

Even our Kashmir issue is a political plot by rich nations.

Because these nation have to sell their arms to someone to make money.

Every country has such issue (esp. third world nations) like a pain in the neck.

Thank u.

Posted By: s_riyazudeen

Hi to all,

According to me us war against Iraq should not be justified. It shows that a nation with good wealth can do anything they want. The same thing can happen to our country also. US can also attack us. It should not be justified. They want to become the world leader.

Posted By: meera

I strongly oppose the act of US against Iraq. As US is strong in economy it showed its strength by waging war against Iraq. The out cause of this war is the death of many innocent people, which is unbearable. This can happen to any other country in future even our country. The loss of life is on both sides. By considering this in mind, for the welfare of people US should stop this barbaric act at least in future

In my view, Every International Dispute must be solved through UN. After the 2nd world war, United Nations were constituted for the same purpose. But US did not care UN in case of War with Iraq.

US had pointed that Iraq is developing Nuclear Weapon, which is a threat to the present World. But even after the end of war, US could not find any proof against Iraq. Thus it clearly shows that the main motive of US & UK was to capture the huge OIL Reserves of Iraq.

In Saddam's regime, Minorities of Iraq were safer. But after the end of war, more attacks are being made on them.

Current civil war between Sia and Sunni Community may lead to complete instability in Iraq.

Considering these points I can strongly say that US war on Iraq was not justified

Hi guys,

War is not the solution. Its waste of resource in our universe. It is doing things mad.

Posted By: sidhu

US war on Iraq-justified or not.

US war on Iraq was not justified from any corner, the only reason US govt showed war on Iraq was to save people from dictatorship of saddam Hussain, is this the reason behind the war, if so, why didn’t they leave the country yet, no their purpose is to rule Iraq by indirectly, by keeping a candidate who can act on the finger tips of U.S Govt, which is exactly done by Britishers with India, the only difference is that they appointed own rulers to rule India.

Got contribution to IT

I think there is a lot of contribution of the Govt in the IT sector. With reduction of prices of PC's in last budget has made computers available to common man. With the infrastructure provided by the Govt, IT companies are eyeing on India as the dream destination.

I think compared to Central Govt; State Govt has done a lot in Andhra Pradesh in developing IT. The construction of Hitech City has improved a lot of scope for the Computer graduates.

Hi everyone,

I personally think that the government has done a great deal in improving the infrastructure and providing opportunities for the MNC's to invest in our country. I think the boom of the IT sector has been well utilized by our country than any other country, one of the reasons for this would be the alarming manpower in the form of engineers that we possess. The ITES industry has also grown to a new stature because of the ever-adapting quality of us, since we adapt to any language and any country and our high tolerance level the MNC's are exploiting the mind power here and the government and the people of our county are rejoicing this wonderful opportunity.

But I would like to make it a point over here that India should allow more MNC's to settle in very quickly because the east pacific countries such as Japan are adapting very quickly, anyway hats up to the government they have done a great job.

Hi frnz ,

I agree with u. our gvt especially state gvt in our AP is contributing well for the growth of IT. Our gvt is encouraging IT field well.

The IT industry is the only industry which helped to emerge India economically so quickly to the front line of the World. India now become the cynosure of world's largest MNC's and the IT companies.

We not only by our talents but the Govt. achieve this achieving also. Indian Govt. and the State govt. now giving a lot of opportunity to the IT and MNC industries to set their plant in their state. We can see it from the Planned IT Park of Several States.

Bangalore, West Bengal, Tamilnadu, Pune, Kerala all these state govt. are competing each other to give the maxim facility to these industries to make their state fully industrialized.

There is a lot of contribution of the Govt in the IT sector. With reduction of prices of PC's in last budget has made computers available to common man. With the infrastructure provided by the Govt, IT companies are eyeing on India as the dream destination.

Hi Guys,

Fine and agree with all.

The govt was most contribution to the IT sector developed in our nation. Bcz the Govt only give the section authority. Without Govt no Company can start. In India, many states are competition with IT MNC's. Say Chennai, Banglore are most.

And in India now most of the north place also now booming.

Hi friends

I agree with all ur points. In olden days it was not the case that the technology had not been developed because we ourselves was an under developed country. It is the govt, which has improved our status of living a lot. Now the govt aim is to have every individual a computer so that he can be more involved towards technology. Thus govt contribution to IT field is very fruitful. But the dreams of the govt must come true. So, we professionals have to improve the technology and build our nation with maxliminal technologies.

Posted By: meera

Hi all,

Government contribution to IT industry is lot. Now a day computer has become a part of one's life. This is only due to reduction of PC's which is available now from 10,000.Many IT industry's were started booming in metropolitan cities due to the effort taken by some of eminent personalities like Dhayanithi maran, chandrababu naidu.

Only by the steps taken by government many foreign countries were choosing India to open IT industry. So, it is in the hands of we people to use this opportunity.

Posted By: pankaj

Dear friends,

I would like to discuss a very critical point here. As our top entrepreneurs always say that they r not getting the quality in India. As they r saying that India will lack in IT sector after few year because lack of manpower. But is it not their responsibility that comes forward and contributes....

How to deal with international terrorism?

  • Rating: Unrated

Posted By: meenakshisekar

Hi all

This is a very very interesting topic. Now the whole world fears of this thing only.

To deal with international terrorism we (all countries) must join our hands together and plan it out. Unless or otherwise this happens not a single country cannot abolish or deal with international terrorism.

No country shud permit terrorist activities in their country and they shud stick to that.

Each country shud be loyal to each other and to the world after that only we can fight somehow.

Posted By: BINNY

I think international terrorism is a curse to this mankind. I agree with meenakshisekar that all the countries should join hands to fight against this terrorism. All the law enforcing agencies should join hands and eliminate terrorism from a particular region on a monthly or bi-weekly basis. All the countries should combine their technology, weapons and manpower to fight against these terrorists.

Not only the govt but also, we have some responsibilities in fighting against the terrorism. We should not elect any corrupt politician. These people are indirectly encouraging and funding the terrorism by Hawala and other means.

Posted By: pooja

Yes I totally agree with binny and meenakshi we can deal with it only when all the countries join their hands together not fighting against them but unitedely we should fight against terrorism which is really a curse to mankind.

How to deal with international terrorism?

Hi,

I agree with u all but I like to add some more to it, fighting against terrorism is indirectly achieve by removing poverty, racial & religion & region (rrrp) sentiment’s, these r the main reasons, why terrorism developing, if we able to spread a message, by saying only one & one only (rrrp) exists, that is mankind, then we r able to succeed in removing most the people from that type of organizations, with that those organizations become weak, then their existence will be in doubt, so friends first we have to make our mindset to invite those guys who r like to leave those type of organizations, then there will be every chance to eliminate any kind of organizations who r working against mankind.

Posted By: mohanraai

Well Guys,

Ya I agree with sidhu's suggestion. We should first find out which is lead to terrorism. We think all to combine all the nations, its is also a terrorism like now US fighted against Iraq like that. One of the nations won't like to join na then fight with that nation. This will leads to terrorism. So analyze y the terrorism happening and all and find the solution. If some of the organization may come to surrender. This will give the solution. Other wise can't stop terrorism.

Posted By: ulty

Hii all...

There has rarely been a period in modern history, when the world has not been confronted with terrorism; somewhere or the other, in some form or another, for some reason or the other. As a mean of coercion through violence, terrorism ebbs and flows and keeps undergoing many mutations.

I also agree with u all that all countries should join hands to fight against terrorism. But it will be impossible for the international community to successfully combat terrorism without first arriving at an international and universally acceptable method to fight against terrorism.

Terrorist groups have modernized themselves, acquired new techniques and technologies as well as tactics. With weapons of mass destruction – nuclear, chemical, biological or radiological - within reach of terrorist groups, nation states need to be that much more vigilant. We have taken some steps to examine this new threat and have made some preliminary moves towards putting a damage limitation system in place.

Terrorists and insurgents the world over has for years relied on the narcotics trade to finance their activities. The money generated is used to buy weapons, explosives and to train terrorists. Hawala transactions are extensively used to move these illegitimate funds from one part of the world to another. If terrorism is to be tackled, it is imperative that the sources of their finance and money laundering operations are traced, identified and neutralized. Those terrorist groups are going hi-tech and using new and more innovative means in their operations is borne out by the increasing use of the cyber medium by these groups for coordination, command and control.

Hello

How to deal with international terrorism?

Well International terrorism can only be prevented by

1 Having Social responsibility towards humanity, by their respective govt as well as people in their nation

2 All nations shud strive for peace

3 If there won’t be a collective effort from all Terrorism cant be prevented...

Posted By: amitkharagpur

To deal international Terrorism, we need better coordination between various countries of the world. Through intelligence sharing. All the countries, which are spreading the terrorism, should be isolated both politically and economically.

We should constitute an international organization whose main objective will be to deal with this terrorism.

All the terrorism spreading country is mostly undemocratic, autocratic country. Whose head are not responsible to their people?

We should deal with terrorism spreading countries in a similar fashion as we had dealt with Taliban in Afghanistan. Many times, it has been proved that Pakistan and some other countries are also supporting terrorists group, therefore, these countries should be dealt a sternly.

Moreover, orthodoxy is also one of the most important reasons of joining people to terrorist group. Which can be stopped through improvement of basic infrastructure like education, medical facilities, etc.

Posted By: BINNY

I totally agree with amitkharagpur ... Some countries are supporting terrorists and funding them for illegal activates. First these countries should be taught a lesson. (PAK)

Posted By: faraz

Well, as I see it international terrorism is an organized process of causing harm or intending to harm the innocent people without regard to the consequences. It’s a desperate measure by a group of people who have no OTHER OPTION left. So, to deal with it you should first identify it, try to address the problems and grievances before hand, SEE THE BIG PICTURE and inform the concerned public officials of the repercussions that may be possible. This should involve the Interpol, FBI, and other world agencies working in hand with media in evolving a constructive atmosphere for peace and mutual trust between the parties that are aggrieved.

Posted By: pankaj

Dear friends first of all I would like to discuss what’s the terrorism. It's the sick mentality of some people who always try to show their aggression without thinking its effect. Terrorists do not apply then own mind but they just follows their so called leader in the name of religion, land etc. so we shud find the root cause of terrorism and try to give clear messages to those people who r just following their so called leaders.

Posted By: cishawsharma

This is a centaury of terrorism and no one can stop it.

Many countries face this problem some or the other time how much ever care is taken there wills b an attack.

However the punish should be so high that it shakes the terrorists so that they will think twice before doing it.

But some attacks are indeed hideous.

Like see the attack on Varanasi.

It perfectly shows that they want to destroy our temples and create a terror among the people.

These attacks shud be condemned.

Your opinion on these days LOVE (bf & gf culture) in youth

These days it has become common to have Gf or Bf but no true love only just time pass sake. It is affecting our Indian culture. I am not at all against of it but I believe in true love not the one, which is done only for time pass. But today’s youth they are falling in love in such a small ages so according to me they should realize that this is not the age for them this is the age when they can think about their careers so for doing anything their should be some right time...

Posted By: rajapattanayak

I think now a day’s youth thinks that love is just a classroom. We have to enter into it. But I do believe love comes from the heart not from the eyes. Friendship is love and all other things are nothing but infatuation. We shouldn't make this love as a fashion. We have to think first what is infatuation and what is real love. I do believe if everyone thinks that love is nothing but giving everything to the beloved without expecting anything from her/him then this world must change to heaven.

Posted By: prasanna

Hi all

I agree wid what pooja was saying but unfortunately this is only d age where ppl fall in love .It has become very common for a common man these days 2 have a gf and he wastes whole of his pocket for d sake of his gf. We shld first think of our carriers at dis age and first settle in our life. After settling we can expedite in our own way. It has also become a fashion 2 have a gf or bf these days. Our parents struggle a lot for d sake of our future n we shld even think of dem also .Who r all those gf n bf who come in d middle of our lives. First settling in our life is very important. Then we can think of other activities.

Posted By: Madhuri

Even I agree with Pooja. Now a day’s love has become a game between two people. First youth should concentrate on their career and should stand for themselves then they should think about others. Now days from small ages people are going crazy and spoiling their careers. But finally we should not forget our culture.

Posted By: faraz

Well to define it precisely its not love between the youth but you can say its just infatuation. These things happen bcoz of the various films on display these days due to which the youth try to think that things in reel life can be enacted in real life. So, their friends to go ahead with such love acts propel such misguided youth. In most of the cases there is loss and misery to one or both the parties involved.

Posted By: ulty

Hello Friends I am in strong favor of love in youth Love marriages (the ones where you date, fall in love and decide to marry) are the best form of marriages ever. This is plainly because, I believe that god created male and female beings (animals or humans) to fall in love & this is entirely by natural instinct. It's only the ones who are in love that know what is good for them. This falling in love is entirely natural however, we as humans unlike animals, must take (or learn to take) responsibility for our actions. We must realize that by marrying someone, we are committing ourselves to making each other happy until death do us part, and such a commitment involves getting to understand each other very well & communicating well with each other & making compromises so as to sustain a healthy relationship.

It is not that the love stories are new to our Indian culture. The great love stories of heer-ranjha, soni -mahiwal happened years before in India

These are the social values that are clearly missing in American society (oh, that Britney Spears wedding and 48-hrs later, divorce - publicity stunt - was such a blatant example).

Posted By: vinvish

Today’s love is as temporary as we change our clothes. Today having a gf has become a matter of prestige. The thinking of today's boys is that if they go around with their gf with a good bike and give them some treats in hotels and that's it. Even the girls expect their boys to have a good bike and give them some treats. Whether this influence of the films or the change in the thinking of this generation we cannot actually find out the reasons for it. Whatever it is one should not forget what are his/her responsibilities towards their parents everything should be under the limit.

Posted By: Nani

Now a days love is become a fashion like wearing new clothes. Every people are thinking that having a gf or bf is a status. But they are not doing real love its only infatuation. Because of this time pass love nobody believe in true love.

I am not opposing love but I am opposing the false love are time pass love. Real love always encourage to develop us either in our educational career or any other career wherever this false love is giving preference only for roaming on roads and making hole to our pockets.

Everyone has to be careful when u r going to fall in love otherwise u have to face problems in future

LOVE- Loss Of Valuable Education

Posted By: Rathi

That’s a good point what nani said, that in todays time there nothing like love. What is there is only infatuation, as without knowing any one how come u loves someone. Today sexual desire has taken place of love. Every one want their physical needs to be satisfied. On the other side this has also become status symbol for every one to have gf. Even every one wants he to get benefit from his/her partner in some way.

Posted By: moni

Now a day having a GF or a BF is a passion. They are imitating the western culture. In college if any one didn’t have at least a GF or BF means all of them call him a " Waste " and they will tease. But we can have that one for a small-scale refreshment (BF or GF) doesn’t ran behind them only. Really very glad to see that girls and boys are very friendly towards each other. But there should be a limitation for all. They have to acquire sheer knowledge about the life. Some times my comments will Hurt some BF and Gf's sorry for the interruption you continue your own kind of business.

Posted By: varsha

I don’t think what we around in colleges and other institutes is love. It just infatuation in some cases or maybe just a chance to show off. But there are always exceptions. Youth is a period to explore your interests, whether it is in case of studies, career or relationships. Only through experience will a person realize what works for him/her.

Also we need to remember the forbidden is always more exciting...so I believe too much of restrictions should be avoided. Also healthy interactions prepare a person to learn how to interact with peers in a civilized manner without making any one feel uncomfortable! -- Var SymRealOnLoad; var SymRealOnUnload; function SymOnUnload () {window.open = SymWinOpen; if (SymRealOnUnload! = null) SymRealOnUnload ();} function SymOnLoad () {if (SymRealOnLoad! = null) SymRealOnLoad (); window.open = SymRealWinOpen; SymRealOnUnload = window.onunload; window.onunload = SymOnUnload;} SymRealOnLoad = window.onload; window.onload = SymOnLoad; //-->

Your opinion on these days LOVE (bf & gf culture) in youth

Hi Friends,

Love is very much similar only thing that changed is in doing it, in the past people use to spend lot of time in loving his/her companion, but today it's not the case where we can find instant love stories which starts from chatting, mobile phone call/messaging to opposite gender/same gender & it also break instantly, so friends, I like to say that Love is not a custom / course in a human life, its a natural feeling which everyone experience in life those who born with a good & strong mentality.

If there were no armies in the world…

As someone said "Peace could be achieved with a barrel of a gun".

If you think of this issue deeply, you will come across some questions I your mind. What is the price of your freedom? What is the price of your safety and dignity of you and your loved ones? You just cant it into figures, can you?

Whatever freedom we enjoy in this world is because we are "FREE", because of our armed forces that protect our borders with their lives at stake. We all owe them.

But power, military or political, can be dangerous if in wrong hands. So, it too has to be balanced, by governing bodies.

Many think that without armies, the world would be a better place. Well, in my opinion, there will be nothing as such...

Posted By: OOPS

Yeh I agree with you arunabha

Posted By: faraz

I disagree with both of you. If there were no armies in the world then there would be peace. Well if you see at a global level; no armies, no boundaries, no countries, only one world. The world will be bursting out of its seams of nationalization and liberalization will take center stage. People will interact more and there will be free trade policies. When your wish of no armies is fulfilled then more constructive policies will emerge for betterment of mankind as a whole.

Posted By: chayanika

Dear faraz, according to you at a global level, we can think of a situation where thr is no army, no boundary, and no country. But faraz reality tells us to count from the opposite side. I.e. it’s because of countries and their boundaries, we need armies. And we can't ignore the importance of having well defined boundaries, as it is said,” Good fencing makes good relation". Now, u was talking about having one world, but I think it is always better to have small pieces of everything as then they can be looked after well. Just as we always break a large complicated program code into smaller modules.

Now comes the question of defense budget and war. Obviously to maintain an army we are to spend a portion of our wealth and I think it’s worth it. Its nothing but a part and parcel of any country. And regarding wars, I think it’s the authorities that are interested in wars or in waging weapons. And its not because armies are there, there is war. The truth is "as war is there the authorities employ the armies".

Posted By: pooja

Hello frnds,

Yes even I agree with arunabha, it is not necessary that if their is no army there will be peace whatever we are today it is cos of army, to protect us they sacrificed their lives.

Army is the heart of the nation and life of the nation...I am very proud of them. Army is fighting with terrorism they are the main reason who are controlling terrorism till some extent.

Hats off to u army...

Posted By: sowmya571

HELLO

If there were no armies in the world…

Well the world couldn’t be manageable if we don’t have armies since, peace concept to be brought its not one mans/ countries /continents contribution. It shud only come from collective contribution.

There are also other factors like GOVERNMENT and Certain Disciplined Forces like ARMY, NAVY AND AIR FORCE coming in to picture for every nation to protect their country. With out them there won’t be individual identity for a nation to exist. Since NOTHING is for charity today

For ex Considering INDIA and PAKISTAN. Pakistan is still trying to capture Kashmir as well as entire India. Which we are fighting against still today. Not to happen since INDIA Looses its identity ... if that happens. THIS IS BEING CONTROLLED TODAY BECOS OF OUR PROUD ARMED MEN, who are still fighting contributing there lives behalf of all the Indians...

I guess the reason still we can be safe today without any threat from other countries is still because of their effort and contribution.

So No Armies is wrong concept actually ... at least in today’s world. That wd has only possible AT TIMES OF RULE OF ANCIENT TIMES...

Posted By: hemamalini

Friends

I feel that army is the soul of every country. Nobody can go freely within his or her country itself. There will be absolute insecurity, total disorder of law and order everywhere. We are able to enjoy freedom only because of the army who is combating the cross-border terrorism in our borders. Without the army there will be intrusion from neighboring countries, which can result to facilitating terrorist activities.

Posted By: cishawsharma

Country without an army???????

That is unimaginable. It’s like wide opening of doors at night of your house.

Posted By: BINNY

I think ...It is impossible to live safely with out armies in this world. The moment we remove armies.we are DEAD!

Posted By: keerthi

I think before thinking about” world without armies" I think we need to think about the "world without terror ". To say in a single world "UTOPIA" - a place of ideal perfection which is an impractical scheme for political or social perfection.

Then we will think of a world without armies.

Posted By: Nani

World without army really its unable to think because for example our country. We have a great army in the world. We have NAVY, AIR FORCE, ARMY but after having this much of strength we are all facing terrorist problems in our country if the world is without army its cant imagine about safety of people.

Not only in that in our country when natural disasters like earth quake and floods are occurred army is doing invaluable help for us by shifting people safe. They have no limitations in their courage and commitment and they are sacrificing their lives for our protection.

After their sacrifice what we r doing. We are just giving a compensation and a award to their and we r forgetting them.

So army in the sense not only for protecting people but also helping in natural disasters

India is one of the fastest developing countries. Everything is changing, & so is our education system. It has been at par since British era, but recent years saw monumental growth, be that in quality or in quantity. Our government is doing quite a good job providing global standard education, and that is evident in the continuous emergence of quality graduates, engineers, etc. My words are further justified by the interest of MNCs to tap INDIAN talent.

We have come a long way in education standards, but there is still lot to learn, lot to improve upon. Indeed, SKY IS THE LIMIT. We have to, HAVE TO keep faith...

Posted By: ulty

Hii All...

According to my viewpoint studies are more beneficial in abroad as compared to India.

Study abroad can be the opportunity of a lifetime — to experience another culture and its people, to develop friendships and to make professional contacts overseas. It can also provide a unique perspective to your academic course work and a greater awareness of yourself and the world. Study abroad identifies a person as an individual who is informed, confident, self-sufficient, and able to learn quickly and adapt to changing conditions

To be educated in India and be a part of the Indian education system is an honor, or rather should be an honor for any Indian. There is no harm in getting educated abroad, but the implementation of the same knowledge, using that knowledge to improve the education system in India would prove a better bet, or give Indian education system a better tomorrow. We always have words to blame the system, but never have the courage to be a part of it and try change it for a better tomorrow. So these are a few words for those so-called " wise people" who have gone abroad and criticize the Indian education system, that they too are responsible for the betterment of the system and should contribute towards by thinking good rather than criticizing the system.

Posted By: kiran123

Hi friends,

In my viewpoint studies in abroad is more beneficial when compare to India. Why because the present Indian educational system is very poor when compare to other countries.

The main system at Indian institutes are concentrating on only the THEORY PART, not concentrating on the PRACTICAL PART but the other countries give more preference to the PRACTICAL PART. For this our students are very lack at practical knowledge and the things are learned by the students at their education time those are

Vanish to contribute at the time of practical part. So, give the importance to both equal.

And the cost of MEDICINE at our country very high when compare to other countries. And maximum seats are based on Donation only. So the poor people are

Not getting the chine to contribute their knowledge.

If any comments please send me....

Posted By: faraz

Well I believe that the studies in India are more beneficial compared to other countries if you look at an overall picture. The studies here are cheap, opportunity to get scholarships, more emphasis on theoretical aspects, and above all greater contribution and assistance from professors and lecturers. If you take into other aspects like latest technology and information, the European countries and U.S. maybe a better option. So, to say which is beneficial, I would suggest it would depend on your studies, your aptitude and other things like family and atmosphere.

Posted By: sowmya571

Hello

Well It Studies in abroad is better when compared to studies in India. Since we need to consider some aspects like Faculty, Experience, and Student faculty Interaction as well as Lab facilities. Well Indian Institutes are also having good facilities now days but the research facts put them

Most institutes will be focusing on Practical knowledge and also assignments based on them. The academic structure will also be more disciplined and flexible.

The main advantage of Indian System is that it gives Value based education.

Posted By: BINNY

HI,

I think studying in India or abroad doesn’t make a difference. As far as the attitude of the student doesn't change. I think the only difference is the infrastructure. Compared to Indian universities; the foreign universities have more facilities. The foreigners believe that Indian education is more beneficial compared to theirs and we believe that foreign education is more beneficial compared to ours. Wherever we are studying. We should make utilize all the resources available to us to the maximum extent. There are many Indian professors teaching in foreign universities.

Let me give an example. There are many foreign students are coming to pursue their education in INDIA. This clearly shows that many of them are interested to come to India for a valuable education in India.

Posted By: sreenu3442003

Hi,

Foreign education is much better than India education. Because of foreign education concentrate on practical knowledge.

They will stress on practical knowledge. But in India most of the people give preference to theatrical knowledge. In India they will conduct more test on theory papers. For example take b.tech, in academic one semester 6 subjects and 2labs.so they less preciosity to practical knowledge.

Any way infrastructure also not good in India compare to foreign. Practical knowledge wills leads to improve creativity. Creativity will leads to improvement. So those countries developed.

So foreign countries education is nice

Hi all

The topic Are studies more beneficial in India or in Abroad. Is a very essential topic, which should be discussed upon to mould sharper, the brains of our Indian youth.

In my point of view, studies are more beneficial in abroad rather than in India. As we all know our education system gives us a little practical but more theoretical. But we have extra ordinary power than any foreigners.

We can study in abroad learn more practically, things done creatively, and do our job in India to make our country a Well Developed Country. As we should learn from others we can gain knowledge through foreign universities and improve our nation quite stronger.

Women have always been good at managing, and I say this referring to all women alike. That includes not only women who are managers in leading companies, but also the housewives, who keep the "home dept" running flawlessly. Infact research shows that women have better multi-tasking abilities than most men.

So it’s undeniable that women are good managers, sometimes, arguably, even better...

Women are good managers

Hi friends,

Yes, women are good managers as men, I would say that they are doing well at every platform for example people like Sonia Gandhi who is indirectly running the Govt at center, From Business arena people like Sailja Kiran who is a C.E.O of margadarshi chit funds & many more, who proved themselves what they are capable of in their respective business fields, so friends I want to say that women are not less to men from any corner.

Posted By: faraz

Well I believe that women are definitely good managers as they have the emotional quotient and are mentally more strong than their male counterparts in dealing with dangerous situations. But, to be more practical it’s not possible for them to compete against men in management.

Posted By: meera

Yah I accept women managers are well suited as they have more patience and ability to tackle the tricky situation. If they can be a good homemaker why can't they be a good manager?

Posted By: BINNY

Hi,

I think woman are more flexible compared to men.they can deal with tough situations very efficiently, they can manage both home and business/office well compared to men. But, I think they need a man behind them to give them a morale boost and support ...like Nenu Unnanu type.

God has given all the ingredients to women.they can work under tremendous pressure ...I think by birth they have the managing skills.let it be managing the house or business. I think compared to men, women have a lot more patience and they work hard.

But ultimately I think, " For every women to be successful, there should be a man behind her "

Also "for every men there is a women behind his success"

According to my point of view, both men and women who are capable of tackling the critical situations, who can go in relation with the team mates, who has good technical spirit, good motives are good managers.

Yes women are coming up in almost all the fields and are compared equally to guys. Well they take care of all the aspects like Family, Job as well as their personal career also. They take the responsibility and full fill all the duties efficiently.

Posted By: meenakshisekar

Ya well

Everybody is supposed to accept the UNIVERSAL TRUTH that women are good managers. The main thing for their success is their courage and patience. And they adapt to their environment quickly. Not only that they have mindset of understanding others. There may be some exceptions. Hats not to be considered.

BEHIND EVERY SUCCESSFULL MAN THERE IS A WOMEN.

BEHIND EVERY SUCCESFUL WOMEN THERE IS A MAN.

There are people whom are some exceptions to these sayings. Anyway it may be a man/woman to be good managers all that they need is

  • Courage

  • Patience

  • Understanding others

  • Responsibility

  • Confidence

  • Self-confidence

  • And all the above FAITH IN GOD

Posted By: OOPS

I do not believe in the strategies like - Women are good managers & Men are best managers - I believe in that it is the attitude what makes difference.

There are many women on the planet who made difference & who created a history. But why the ratio is small to compare with men? Because of social environment.

Some example in INDIA 70% of parents they do not give encouragement to female. That is the reason ration is small while we are comparing with men.

Slowly scenario is changing (Mainly in middle & poor class). Now ever body realizing that a female also can make difference…. Yeh now the whole world knows what they can do…

Support from backend is always necessary for whether if they are men or women. But according to today’s social environment women need more encouragement than men to achieve their goals.

So. Men or women do not lift your self that your are great!!

Its not the gender creates the success it is the burning desire, unending commitment & finally ATTITUDE.

Real Example: My dad never gave good support to my sister. She studied in all govt colleges but dad joined us (my br & me) in private schools & colleges.

Today my sister is a Sub inspector of Police who achieved that feat at very young age. Its all because of her commitment & desire.

It’s not the MEN BEHIND the WOMEN or WOMEN BEHIND THE MEN.

It is the HUMAN BEHIND THE HUMAN

Posted By: moni

I also "ACCEPT WOMEN ARE GOOD MANAGERS" they can handle some Herculean jobs in a tricky manner than women. But one thing is most of the women are very sentimental and they will melt down easily (Not for all woman ... a few are different) then another one is they have soft heart they can't stand with in an Ideal state. In home they are managers I accept because they are managing almost all works in a home.

Posted By: sowmya571

Hello

Behind every human therz a human! Men / women its the commitment towards doing things is more important. Well we are appreciating women progress because of the past history

Where in olden days women were given low priority. They got married at early age. They weren’t sent to school for higher education only few are been got that privilege. Slowly the scenario has been changing. Growth of women has slowly started. People are giving equal consideration to females. Today

What not they have done all histories. Went to moon, became CEO's to companies, Sports, Movies, Maintain Family. That’s how we tend to compare with guys in all the aspects. But behind this ... we also have our family , father , mother, brothers and sisters as well as community which played a great role in transforming women

Well credit all goes to them as well as self-commitment towards achieving things.which is must for achieving

If we have a BURNING DESIRE to achieve well GUY/GAL can achieve anything.

Yes, I agree woman has good manager skills like manage child, senior people in home and family economic problems too.

HI,

I am very glad to have the topic.” Women r good managers”. Like technology is rapidly going towards victory, Women r also fastly reaching a peak victory. They know to manage all the things.

According to me in olden days also women were good managers. Even they were not allowed to go outside, they were the best managers for the house. They managed the whole family.

In olden days, they were, now a days they r and in future they will be good managers. Only difference between the past and the present is the field. In those days they were the managers only for the house. But at present, they r managers for all the fields. So they r equal to all persons in all ways. The women r in all fields like Science (Kalpana chawla), Sports (Sania mirza), politics (Chief minister), website (Sureshkumar.net=Sowmya, keerti) etc.

"WOMEN ARE ALWAYS GOOD MANAGERS"

Posted By: shatrughana

Yah its true now a days women’s become gr8 leadership qualities and convincing with people and practical example women’s are gr8 managing capacity in as a house wife’s you already know. She can work as men with together with team member.

Women’s have some special qualities like patience, managing, leadership as Sonia Gandhi jee and attracters to people.

Posted By: hari212

I agree with our friends that women are good managers...In the olden days women were only restricted to house only...but even then they showed their management skills in the home...now a days women are very fast as growing technology.... some of the examples of successful women are Indira gandhi, Sania mirza, Jayalalitha etc., had proven their talent in their respective fields...

Women deserve the award for their excellent leadership qualities they r having...they r equivalent to the men now a days....

So I conclude that women are good managers

Posted By: meenakshisekar

What yahoo is saying is correct

Its human behind human. A great applaud to yahoo's sister for her courage and commitment.

Posted By: Nani

Yes I am agreeing that women are good managers. In ancient days they r restricted to house purpose only they are not crossed the limits which were set up by society and men. So they r only limited for home affairs in those days.

But now society is thinking broadly and men also motivating them for achieving goals and all are open hands for them to this.

But still they are some limitations for them, which are created by situations in their home and family. So they may not concentrate and unable to put maximum effort in work given to them. They have to take care of family especially children.

Posted By: cishawsharma

Yes I 100% agree that women are good managers.

I feel its is their their inherent feature of a women. She gets used up to multitasking right from her childhood.

She has to manage the whole house and her children and concentrate on her career as well. In one sense we can say that women is the backbone of every family. Taking responsibility became a part of her life.

Due to that she can manage anything everything and everyone.

IT is a nature gift to women.

HAPPY WOMEN'S DAY

Significance of GD in requirements

  • Rating: Unrated

Posted By: arunabha2003

Well I think that Group Discussions are a perfect way to judge a host of skills, which cannot be evaluated, in any written test. Skills like leadership qualities and responsiveness to other peoples views and judgment, how people react and mould themselves into the GD are very important points to be evaluated in a future employee. The companies of today are fast moving, so changing and moreover adapting to the conditions is quite important. Pressure handling capabilities, public speaking qualities as well as modesty and humility and persuasive nature of a person are also put to test during a group discussion session, which all amount to the total evaluation of the candidate.

Posted By: OOPS

Yes I agree with arunabha2003.

Posted By: faraz

Performing well in a GD is definitely a very important prerequisite for getting a job. The person's rationale judgment and composure in dealing with situations are put to test. How the person goes about interacting with people and how he behaves in a group is also given relevance. The one who talks more and dominates is not selected usually.

Posted By: sowmya571

Hello

I guess GD is essential in requirements since we can know many things ab the candidate like

1 His Communication skills

2 His ability to work in Team

3 His behavior to some extent whether he is dominative or whether he simple in accepting things.

4 Last but not the least person’s confidence

Posted By: sreenu3442003

Yes GDs are essential in requirements. Because of in GD we can evaluate the following qualities

1) Communication skills

2) Reaction dealing with program

3) Thinking capability

4) Confidence

5) Leadership qualities

So GDs are essential in requirements

Posted By: chayanika

I fully agree with sowmya. GD is a very useful way to judge a person's leading qualities, his confidence, his way of dealing problems etc.

But practically all these things are possible only if the group consists of a maximum of 5/6 people. Otherwise it becomes an utter chaos. Each and everybody shout more and more louder. May be in this situation, authorities will say, "one should try to control the situation and make it a successful gd. but in reality, whenever one tries, others become louder. Coz in an office it may be possible for a person using his position or the atmosphere of the office, to control such chaos. But in case of a gd everybody wants to prove himself or herself. So nobody is ready to follow anyone's authority. So in such chaos it is not at all possible to point out which person is having a leadership quality or who is confident etc. I have faced this situation while participating in GDs.

So in a nutshell I want to say that the requirement of GD can't be ignored in a process of recruitment only if the group is a smaller one.

Posted By: bal_bharu

GD is very essential for dis:

1. To find 1's capability.

2. His co-operation with others,

3. His knowledge n communication skills,

4. To find d interest he has in what ever he takes.

Posted By: winner

GD as it holds "GROUP DISCUSSION" judges one's capability or fluency in English.Nowadays, all companies need a professional who is good in communication skills, his way of approach, points he undertake etc. So, all companies propose GD and then select the people.

GD signifies:

1.A Person's Communication Skills

2.His ability to manage situations if something is going contradictory to his views.

3.His way of approach to the concepts.

4.His knowledge in the concepts.

5.Technical Facts known to the person

6.His mannerism

7.His behavior

These can be predicted about a person in a GD.

Based on these the interviewer judges about the capability of the professionals.

Posted By: BINNY

HI,

I think GD is the best to find ones full talent while working in a Team. Group Discussions not only expose ones Communication Skills but also their skills while working in a team.

I agree with sowmya, Winner & arunabha2003

Posted By: sidhu

HI,

I think GD is the best way for selecting a candidate in an interview, where a candidate ability is known to the interviewer regarding patience, instinct ideas, the way he tactical pressure situations...etc, its like selecting a pearl from a set of stones, so I agree with conducting GD's in interviews.

Posted By: cishawsharma

Group discussion plays a vital role. It through light on the attitude and team spirit of a person.

Is peace and non-violence outdated concepts?

  • Rating: Unrated

Posted By: meenakshisekar

This topic wow very interesting!

Peace or non-violence never gets outdated b's they always at a time or when situation demands need to be addressed.

Not every thing can be achieved with violence. Whatever daz it may be nowadaz or olden daz there are things that need to be addressed purely as non-violence.

For ex: problem b/w husband and wife these daz shud b approached with a mind set of peace.b's those are not things were violence cant play its active role.

Posted By: faraz

Well if you look at a world prespective, then I definitely agree that peace and non-violence are outdated concepts!!! The very word peace is out of the minds of people. Countries are competing against each other in building nuclear weapons, buying heavy machinery and arsenal, showing their strength and combat in air, water and land. On-violence has taken back stage with evolving technology and various forms of discrimination and hatred policies.

Posted By: mohanraai

Well,

No, it is avail. Otherwise u can't live in the world. Some of the place avail violence. The people didn't have their needs, then that leads to violence. If u need then only that violence. If u would like to speak about violence, then u get tensed and ur pressure also increased. Ignore that news abt that, u feel happy. I don't say, don't to hear the news and all. U watches the news and don't be create this as big issue. Then only it becomes violence. Every one like to cool, then this matter is closed.

Violence will happen always, u should stabilize that violence as peace of life.

When the minds between people misunderstand, this will be a problem.

Posted By: ssrkraju

Hi All,

The word Violence itself sounds panic and something bad or worse. Today morning we hear of violence in Varanasi Temple killing 20 and injuring other 50. That itself starts pinching somewhere deep in the heart why Violence? It is out of our area of influence but it still hurts. Even the violence to prisoners in the Abu-Garib Jail or at the Border does have an adverse impact on us. When this is the case why should one turn to violence. Coming to the point of today's scenario, we should not be misguided by the headlines by various news channels. Yes! I do accept that there is violence all-around but there is peace all-over which we are unable to sense. We see an incident in any remote place in the country and just go on commenting that our country is not a safe place, but we are not witnessing the calmness in 99% of the cities, towns, villages, schools, colleges, offices... If you have the heart to see, you can also find peace in yourself. It is the hectic schedules and busy daily routines that we are unable to browse through ourselves. The chart in police records may contain huge number of violent events but they didn’t achieve anything in sense. Destruction can never gain anything. They can boost only ignorant and arrogant people. Being optimistic and solving problems in an effective manner should take us away from this violence. I strongly feel that there is always an alternate way to violence. Yes! It may a bit difficult one but the point is There is. Not only now, but in future also, for mankind to stay on this Earth and for his very living, peace and non-violence are the only players.

Posted By: asbisht4u

Hi all, actually I do not agree with the thoughts put by ssrkraju, that we should not worry about the incident which happened today. Since 99 % of the places we have peace. Actually the violent attack today has much to do with religion and less to do with generic concept of peace and violence. Last time we have attack in IISc bangalore. So you can see here in bangalore also we are not safe. Infact we are not safe in any place in India it may be Calicut far south where arms are found in mosques or most of the time in north. If it's not happening in our place doesn't mean we are safe. After all the whole India is ours. We have to look into why only a particular religion is always involved in such type of inhuman things. Why only Islamic terrorism. Hitler also did the same violence for Christianity but that was very long back and not so often as Islamic terrorism.

We need to understand why it's happening in India only not in USA.

Because the mass of this India is not bothered about killings of other they bother about thereselves. But they don't think that on the very next day they may be the targets. We give votes to SamajVadi Party whose leaders in India are giving anti Indian slogan and party is not expelling those Anti Indians. We are giving votes to Congress, which is ignoring the mischiefs of Islamic fundamentalist just because of vote bank they are not coming up with strong rules against terrorism as those are in USA. If some other party is coming against it, they are saying "you are targeting Muslims" and taking advantages of so called pseudo secularism. USA is also blamed for that but we should support him on his antiterrorist campaign.

We have different rules for Muslims and Hindus and Christian why we are not destroying this trend. Why not one rule? Why we are dividing our country on the basis of religion?

And who is responsible for all this we Indians only since we vote not for country but for religion, cast and region. This is the root cause of the problem. If we want peace we should educate our people, should have only one rule, make very tough rules for Islamic terrorism, regional terrorism and all other kind of terrorism. As the blast was on temple only a fool will say that this terrorism was not targeted on Hindus. It’s obvious. So why fight between two communities? We just because of the people elect it. They are responsible for it and eventually we, for electing them.

Why it's not in USA compare this with other countries and you will find the answer. Since USA doesn't encourage Islamic fundamentalists for the vote bank though there lives a plenty of Muslims

Our Indian gov gives funds for Haz why not for any other Hindu event like Mansarover? Why not for any other Christian or Sikh event it clearly shows our leaders are encouraging Islamic fundamentalist for the sake of votes.

So finally I conclude that

1. We are responsible for it.

2. Give ur precious votes to an educated and wise person not to a fundamentalist.

3.keep the feeling that we are Indian first not Hindu, Muslim Sikh or Christian.

4. Promote this feeling and avoid those people socially who are fundamentalist.

5. Fight for making stronger anti terrorism rules. As in the case above demand for hanging all the persons who are directly/indirectly involved in this kind of terrorism.

If we don't follow it right now next time we can be the targets as what happened today clearly shows. And there will be no peace in any part of the India. I don't know why people hesitate to bring the correct reason on the front.

Posted By: cishawsharma

In my opinion peace and non-violence are not the concepts. Rather they are the qualities, which should be acquired by everyone according to the situation.

As violence breeds violence so as peace breeds peace.

It is the greatest quality.

Posted By: Nani

Peace and non-violence or not only the concepts. We have to follow it.coz we can’t find anything with peace and violence. People must be protesting the things like terrorism. This is only the root, which is developing non-violence

Unnecessarily innocent people are getting killed because of this voilence.each and every person must follow the rules, which are providing peace and non-violence

Posted By: renu

This is very interesting topic.

Peace and non-violence is not the outdated concepts. Some people think that Violence is the solution to gain what they want. Not some people in through out worldwide in many countries many people think that Violence is the only solution what they want to achieve.

But it’s not the fact in every moment. Everything will not be achieved with Violence. Sometimes it leads to disorders in the society.

If every person thinks in a perspective and global way there we will find a solution. That is the Piece. Without the peace the survival of the society is at stake.

Posted By: sidhu

Is peace and non-violence outdated concepts?

Peace and non-violence are old words, which are fruitful like gold by reframing the same concept

With the changing environment they making good impact on the individual life of the country, we can say that these words got its reputation from our father of the nation who is none other then Gandhiji, he is the one who has started non-violence moment before independence. So friends I want to say that these words are going to exist as long as violence doesn't stop.

Posted By: ashutoshscsvmv

I think peace and violence is now a days is very difficult to get, if you wana peace and violence then

You have to change your thought towards the minorities of India, you also have to change total environment created by the these political leaders and parties then also you can get peace and voilence.only changing the place you cant get peace so better try to change environment not place.

Is it necessary to ban COCOCOLA in India

Regarding group discussion on love marriages.

I agree that arranged marriages are more stable than love marriages. According to survey nearly eighty percent of the love marriages are failures. Most of the love marriages are failure because they lack sincerity. When they are in love they try to show some extra positive behaviors, which they actually lack in order to gain the heart of their counterpart. But after marriage they slowly start exhibiting their original character and misunderstandings will slowly crop up between the two.

In order to succeed in love marriages one need to be really sincere and he must be able to convince their parents.

Another reason for the failure of the love marriages are that generally the ages of both the persons will be same. According to research girls are three years more matured than boys. So due to the difference in their maturity levels there are more chances of misunderstandings.

Posted By: 02091A0342

Sorry friends I have registered today only. So I was little bit confused. You can include the above topic in love marriages verses arranged marriages. I wont repeat the mistake from next time onwards.

In my opinion not only coco cola all type of coal drinks should be banned. Because these drinks are having that much acid, which is equal to the acid present in liquids, used for toilet cleaning. And I have practiced it. So imagine what will happen if we drink that liquid. And we are unnecessary loosing 8 or 9 rupees, which is of cost at most 1 rupee. If we use that price for drinking a coconut drink then it will be healthier than that. So in my opinion it should be banned.

But one think is more important that how to aware people about it. And if we banned than many people who are working on this will be uncork.

Posted By: cishawsharma

We once banned coca cola earlier and lifted the ban again.

Yes coca cola should be banned in India, in the health point of view. It’s not good for health drinking coca cola or any fizzy drinks.

However our cine stars are endorsing that product as if that is their own company. I wonder if anyone star will have it.

Coming to the point, our money flows to foreign if we buy any foreign commodity.

And coca cola plays a vital role coz we think that drinking coke is fad now. Almost all at one point drinks that. Its contains only sugar and sugar. Which will suddenly increase our blood sugar levels.

Even though the cost of the product is less, drinking coke or coca cola is unhealthy economically and physically.

Posted By: winner

The topic is is it necessary to ban COCOCOLA in India

In my view, it is absolutely necessary to ban coca cola not only in India but also around the whole world. It was proved that there are some germs and mixture contains some thing that is very harmful to the life of the human.

But the taste of coca cola is the one, which has got the fan for it. Once we know that is injurious to our health it is not advisable to touch any more. Thus COCOCOLA must be banned in our country.

Posted By: meera

Yes I agree with u all. The acidity level in these soft drinks is 3.4 which is high enough to dissolve teeth & bones. And if this coke can clean toilet, remove rust plz think off what will happen to our digestive system if we intake these soft drinks. Soft drinks do not have any nutritional values such as minerals & vitamin, they have higher sugar, acidity and more preservatives and coloring agents, which are harmful and can lead to various diseases. And think that we r paying for it .So I suggest that these kind of soft drink should not only be banned in India but all over the world

Posted By: satyadev

Yes COCOCOLA to be Banned Not only in India around the world, Government has to take certain steps for not distributing COCOCOLA till they are maintaining certain standards for Soft drinks.

Now a days Its good to take Natural Drinks (Coconut water and Fruit Juices) than soft drinks Bcoz Atmosphere of the earth is changing, Its time to concern more about our Health according to climate.

As we All know that "Health is Wealth” So I feel soft drinks like COCOCOLA to be banned in INDIA

Posted By: varsha

Coco cola is bad for health but banning is not a solution. I think awareness about its bad effects will be a better way to deal with it. As we have seen after the reports of pesticides in those drinks the consumption decreased considerably so if people are given a valid reason they will automatically stop drinking

Posted By: mohanraai

Hi,

I agree with varsha's suggestion. Bcz the people will know the causes/side effects of the cocoa only, we can stop. Otherwise we can't ban this.

Posted By: anumodhc

Hi

As varsha told, make people aware about its side effects will be a good way than banning it. Stop drinking COCOCOLA and other drinks. Then they will reduce production.

Multinational Companies: Are they devils in disguise?

I don’t think that multinational companies are devils in disguise.

But there might be lot of pressure to complete a project.

Sometimes we have to work day and night to complete it forgetting our family life. And there will b a huge competition at work.

If we consider these reasons very tough then yes its devil in disguise.

Posted By: innovia

No. They are not.

They bring in the new technology. Also helps to maximize the resource utilization. Think the number of options both in job market and in products they brings. Yeah.they do create more competition, but that’s what creates option!

Posted By: sowmya571

Hello

Multinational Companies: Are they devils in disguise?

Put it this way People

ARE INVESTMENTS MADE IN INDIA BY MULTINATIONALS ARE WORTH FOR INDIA OR NOT

Posted By: sowmya571

Hello

Yes the Investments made By MNC's are really worth

ADVANTAGES

1 LOTS OF EMPLOYEEMNT OPTIONS

2 GUD VALUE TO INDIA

3 SCOPE OF IMPROVEMENT

4 THEY INVEST IN INDIA, THOSE MONEY CAN BE UTILIZED TO MANY USEFUL THINGS

DISADVANTAGES:

1 IN INDIA WE GET CHEAP LABOUR

2 MANY RESOURCES AND TECHNOLOGY WILL BE UTILIZED BY FORIEGNERS

So there are benefits as well as disadvantages. Here

Posted By: mohanraai

Well,

No, they are not giving any pressure. bcz of our wrong estimation only cause this much pressure. Our Team Manager giving wrong study of project estimation, this will leads to work in nights and all.

They will give lot of opportunities to us.

But even though most values also add to our nation and more generation also adding. We can say they compensate our financial condition evenly.

If they didn't come to India then, India will slave to many countries. So they gave more support to us.

Posted By: cishawsharma

Yes there should be right way to guide a project if not unnecessary pressure on the employees.

Posted By: Rena

Hi,

Surely investment made by MNC in INDIA is useful for India. We should be proud on ourselves that they r ready to invest on us. Still they get the required thing from us, they r ready to invest. The major problem in India is unemployment. But their investment paves the way to the eradication of this problem. After the placement in the company we should make the company as a team. We should not think that they r foreigners to us and they should not think that we r foreigners to them. When we enter the company we should think the development of the company and we should also have in mind that all r one. They r giving recognition to Indians. The stress is not only in MNC's. It is also in local companies.

SO the investment in India is really worth.

Posted By: satyadev

No, they are not Devils in Disguise,

Where there is a source of wealth every one move to utilize utmost resources. (As ANTS will move to Sugar...) As the MNCs are Investing A lot In India, It is because of the More Intellectuals are there in India, for these they Provide so many facilities to employees

In the other way

Yes one of us already specified it is because of the Improper planning only they will put Pressure On the Employees.

And one more thing they can get their work be finished very cheaply (it regards payment of an employee) and Quickly

Posted By: meera

No I don't think so. These MNC's make the country economically strong. Many multinational companies were ready to invest in India. This reduces the unemployment problem and also it will bring focus of other countries towards India.

Disadv

Even though high salary is provided the pressure given by the company is more.

Indians work in MNC's as low cost employee when compared to US

Posted By: ari_laxmi

Yes I also agree MNC r not devil in disguise; MNC reduces the problem of unemployment.

Posted By: keerthi

Hi all

I think advantages are more here. Since India is still developing Investments made by MNC's plays a major role in our development.

Though there are some disadvantages like we get less salary for more work when compared to the foreign pay scales. And the foreigners use our intellectual property.

But they play a very important role now. As we are poor compared to developed states there is no other go, we need to work for even less pay.

Posted By: Njoy

But here the main problem with this globalization is.

People will go crazy about MNC (not only software & hardware but also there are many food, health, Machines etc etc) products. May be because of the quality & cost. If the product quality is good & cost is less than Indian based products then 100s of Indian based companies need to shutdown their business I think this is also one reason few ppl are not supporting globalization

Posted By: Priya Narayanan

Hi I think MNC are not devils in disguise. As India is developing country it helps us to grow in wealth. And also unemployment has been reduced because of MNC. Even though some may feel workload in MNC's are more but the salary is high. So I conclude that MNC's are not devils in disguise.

Posted By: faraz

I believe mnc's are definitely devils in disguise. Although there are huge benefits for the country as a whole but if you look at a holistic perspective your opinion will differ!!! You maybe working in an MNC but I am not criticizing it, just trying to bring to fore the realistic viewpoint. These mnc's hire large amount of talented youth that work like dogs all through the day. That’s what American mentality is WORK, WORK AND WORK. They hardly get the time to think of country or other matters. Okay they give you money and make huge investments to country bringing up the economy but at what cost????????????? Firstly they alienate us from the family indirectly affecting family ties. The youth get good pocket money and they indulge in their pleasures with total disregard to their elders. The opinions of the youth and their mentality are changed and they think totally the western way. So, MNC’s ultimately are culture vultures and are penetrating into the Indian family system and thereby making kids more independent at a very young age. This has broad future implications and to what extent this may cause concern to us time will tell. Finally I want to conclude that mnc's are devils in disguise and in other words can be called as a NECESSARY EVIL!!! (Like friction)

What are your suggestions to develop this nation

My suggestions to develop this nation! Wow never thought some one would ask me such a question. Well first I would suggest revamping the total political system to make it more transparent and honest. Next would be to make education compulsory and eradication of child labour. After that I would suggest using more alternate sources of energy and spending more money in this aspect by govt. Next online would be total networking of rural population to make them aware of latest agricultural practises. My final suggestion would be to make latest gadgets around the world more accessible to the nation. (On par with US) Hope these things will be noted ............

Posted By: sowmya571

Hello

What are your suggestions to develop this nation?

Well My suggestions WD be

1 Political System should be changed a lot

2 Rural Areas Needs to be concentrated since there are many areas where people are still suffering without water, electricity and proper education too.

3 Agricultural Aspects should be given more funds and also

Posted By: Rena

HI,

To develop the nation, as faraz said, the present politics should come to an end.

1.There should be only one political party. Bcoz if there r more than 1 political parties, policians spend their most time in finding fault with ruling party and vice versa. Both the parties’ r not concentrating in the development of the nation. Both parties r aiming at telling against each other’s. People r not benefited anything. If the people come to know that the ruling party is doing something wrong, immediately they should be given rights to take that ruling party from the power. India can be developed only if the politicians think that it is their nation.

2. There should be some recognition for the talented people and the salary must be given according to their work. Less salary only leads to migration. If we have talented people, then only we can implement new ideas. But other nations r implementing the ideas of Indian in their countries and all r going to foreign countries due to salary.

3.Education system must be changed. This is not the right system followed here. Practical implementation will leads to good knowledge. We r concentrating only in theory and not in practical. There should be some correlation between the studies and the work. But now days, there is no relation between studies and job. Education should help us to improve much. But today's education is a burden for many people.

Posted By: keerthi

I agree with Rena regarding the point that we need only a single party.

1. Lets not think about parties for a while. These parties are formed because different people have different opinions. As rena said all the disputes arise between the parties, as each of them want to be superior over the other. Instead of concentrating on the actual problems of the nation they try to find fault with each other over trivial issues.

2. We need to improve our education system from the ground levels. Like teaching, discipline now a days we can hardly find the children who give merge respect to their teachers. They don’t care the teachers and comment in front of them. Our education system must be activity based as well as value based to make the children perfect in all respects like studies as well as communication skills, leader ship qualities and many more.

3. Most important point is Create a corruption free nation. Infact this is the root cause of all disasters. Carelessness, and absence of locality towards nation are the reasons. This change cant be bought about by any group or any institute. Creation of corruption free nation depends on today’s youth. Dont accepts or takes or encourages bribes that are the better solution for this problem.

Success is all about human relations

Hi frnz,

Every one wants success in their life so they strive hard for it. But success without human relationships will not gain anything. For example: Take in the case of Ganguly. Of course he was a good batsman and captain ...But he didn’t maintain good relationship among his colleagues. But coming to the case of Dravid ...he is also a good player at the same time a good human being maintain a good relationship will every one. So every one like Dravid than Ganguly. This shows that success alone is not worthy but success with good human relationship gives us more happiness.

Every one must remember that even though we have success or failure we should definitely must have at least four members beside us to appreciate us for our success or comment on our failure, so that we can better know about us where we have gone wrong.

Nice reply rupa. Maintaining cool relationships is an art infact.

One of the best ways to educate our hearts is to look at our interaction with the people, because our relationships with others are fundamentally a reflection of our relationship with ourselves... By Dr. Dtephen Covey

Yep it’s true. Successful people listen to others more & talk very less.

Let me write down 2 important ethics behind highly successful people on the planet.

1: Talk in terms of other person interest

2: Walk in other person shoe.

If we can able to adopt these 2 things into our real life will be so cool.

Posted By: cishawsharma

Yeah that true

Every course we do is internally link with humans.

Esp. management is purely linked with humans.

So we have learned how to deal with people, how to manage them, and how to work with them.

A negative person cannot succeed in his life.

To lead a successful life one has to b very positive.

Posted By: MightyMastero

Yep. To tackle with human being is very difficult in this world. If u masters this art you can rock everywhere

Posted By: sidhu

Hi friends,

I agree with all ur opinions friends, human relationship is a natural art which has to be learn by an individual on his/her own, its an art which makes person to be worthy in b/w so many people, we appreciate people like our president Abdul Kalam besides for his great work in research department, he has been respected for his generosity & good nature, so friends Money gives everything but not name & fame.

Posted By: BINNY

Hi,

Yes, I do agree that Success is all about Human Relations.Whether it is in College or in Office. Let us say we are college/school. If we keep a good impression among the teachers.you get good marks in Internals/Unit tests.

In the same way in Office if we keep good report with our TL's and others we can achieve success very easily.

Posted By: keerthi

I agree wid u friends. Infact if we can control the human beings and can maintain perfect human relations we can excel well in any part of the world. I think human relation is one of the tough concepts.

As one of our friends has quoted "Our behavior with others is the reflection of how much we know about ourselves”. Hats exactly true.

Mere knowledge of something or talent or a distinction or a rank has no value if the person is bad at maintaining good human relations. Sucess can be called so only if a person succeeds in maintaining human relations

Posted By: sowmya571

HELLO

Success is all about human relations

Well I wd say Success is of 95 % hard work and 5% luck

What ever we want to achieve we have to have focused attitude and determination to achieve the goals is more important. We need to put our self at work. Only then success comes

Well coming to success from other end we need have supporting people behind any success. Well its not mandatory but then good to have people to share our success and happiness

ADVERTISEMENT IS ESSENTIAL FOR A SPORTS MAN?

  • Rating: Unrated

Posted By: faraz

  • Yes, to some extent I believe advertisements are essential for a sportsman. As they play for the pride of the country they are regarded as public figures so it is but natural for them to go for ad campaigns, showing them sporting a product of a company.

  • The companies and ad agencies are now cashing on sportspersons to rake up their brand values! And this trend is being given boost with such young talent blossoming and reaching their nadirs! From the azharuddin to sania mirza’s, ad has gone a long way.

  • But the advertisements have its share of pitfalls. Excessive or overdose of ads may leave the sportsperson media savvy and a significant decline in his/ her performance in their respective sports! This has resulted in decline of top players in tennis, football, cricket, etc...The huge money and potential of earning big bucks is luring the sportsperson and ultimately result in an irreparable effect on his professional life!!!!

Posted By: ssrkraju

  • I would start today's talk with an example. When we are promoted to a new class, for good books and by good authors, whom do we ask for? A teacher or a bank manager? Looks very awkward, yes it is! Why do we need to have a tennis star or a cricketer tell us to eat particular biscuits? What has our sensational star Dhoni to do with Exude battery? (Sorry to use an example) What does Ifran or John know about the brand new Mobiles? Does Viswanathan Anand get the knowledge of chess by eating Parle-G? Does Amitabh Bachan eat chocolates?

  • I want to make it clear at the outset that they don't have anything to do with the product they advertise. They do promote the product with the publicity they have. For example, Munaf Patel not known to these industries are running to sign him. Was he using their products, a little thought would give the answer as NO.

  • The basic challenge before any sportsperson is to master the game and be the best in his/her discipline. He needs to win and prove the talent to others by giving out his best efforts. There are more successful sports people than the cricketers we see.

  • We can get the fact that our Indians are getting gold medals in the ongoing common wealth games. Why are they not being targeted? The reason is we pay less attention to these games. Cricket or Tennis or F1 have become a great choice of viewers. They are getting lot of money for advertisements, the players also having their chunk.

  • If the sports personalities have influence they can come up with great messages for our Indian youth and others. I like some of them taking a large step in this direction. I don’t have any problem with them gaining huge amounts; they can spend a part of it to the society for its well-being. Indeed many do them and have set an example for all of us.

  • I would like them to advice them that instead of advertising for some unwanted and irrelevant ads, they can start some programs/camps to entertain local talent whenever they find some time and with the help of government we can develop the game and just bring the best of country in to the limelight.

Posted By: Tan

  • There are two views on this question.

    1. Are advertisement necessary for a sportsperson

    2. Should sportsperson endorse products?

  • The country where people are mad about the game cricket, where people cannot think of any other game than cricket, yes we have to advertise our sportsperson in order that some company will sponsor them and eventually which leads to encouragement to the sportsperson.

  • It’s very hard for an individual or group to come into limelight where cricket dominates. So we have to give a strong push to other games that people will know that there is a game other than cricket. That can be done by only ads.

  • Coming to the second point. It’s really ridiculous to see sportsperson endorsing the products. I wonder if these people ever tried those products. And funniest part is that they cannot deliver in perfect manner as professionals deliver. Even then we will buy them because so and so used it. So and so endorsed it. Yes its true that they are not professionals as they are in their respective games.

Posted By: BINNY

  • I think endorsing a product, which is Good to people, is a good thing and the sports person should go for it. We have seen many actors/sports person advertising Pan Masala/Gutkhas/Bevarages/ and other bad things, which do not do well to people. These things should be avoided or people who endorse such products should be banned from sports.

  • Coming to excessive endorsements and shoots, these sports man's loose their focus on the Game. Govt should put up stay on giving dates for ads during a series/championship are going on.

Posted By: Anusha_j

  • The advertisement of the products by sports person has increased to a large extent now a day. There are the celebrities. I don’t think its necessary. I don’t understand why these companies pay them crores of rupees.

  • There are models, which can advertise them. And the media just focuses on the person who has achieved something at present. There are many people who are showing their talents in many other fields. Public even doesn’t know about them they are just attracted to the person whom the media popularizes much.

  • And even the popularity of sports person is not standard. There is no one who bothers about them after their retirement. Recently we came to know about few men who achieved gold medals in their carrier are working in fields, some work shops etc. It’s a pathetic situation. They are not being repudiated now. This trend must change.

Posted By: satyadev

  • Advertisements for the Sportsmen are up to some extent it is essential, The Company, which is going to advertise their products with the sports person, They Sponsor him for all the Requirements to achieve success in his Game,

  • Lets Take an Example MRF, Addidas. is Sponsor for Sachin Tendulkar.MRF will take care of his all career about his needs. Like the Addidas provide him what ever he required for the game (in Respect of Shoes)

  • But some of them need these Famous Sports persons to improve their products Sales. Now Advertisements for Sports persons are too much. They have to Limited and they have to concentrate on their GAME more By Advertising for Products Sports wont feel over pride about their Position. They have to be Fight for the Country...

Present state of Indian Cricket team

  • Rating: Unrated

Posted By: ssrkraju

  • When we talk of Indian cricket we need to consider two aspects, statistics and overall growth. Recent statistics show that India is doing great winning ODI Pakistan series by 4-1, Win against England in the Test, Kumble achieving 500 wickets, Rahul getting into 100 test milestone, Sachin still the highest run scorer, Dravid still being the wall of India, new talent coming in like Dhoni, Sreesasanth, Munaf, among others.

  • Indian cricket can be considered as reaching its peak as our Indian stock market. Talent in India has never been a question. Tapping it and giving it a direction was most essential thing. This is exactly taking place now, young blood coming in and many new faces getting opportunities and proving their talent beyond doubt. Nowadays we are struggling to keep cricketers out of eleven.

  • One thing we are able to see know in Indian cricket is their improved attitude and they are no doubt doing all the homework to perform better everyday. In my point of view, winning or losing doesn’t matter much when our side is fighting not just giving away.

  • Recently the matches between Australia and South Africa, in my opinion both are winners as both struggled to be the best and a matter of a ball or one run need not separate their ratings. The basic attitude of positive play is now seen in all players. I do accept Kalyani's emotions for Ganguly, here we need to understand that many new all rounders are coming by and we need to encourage them. Like dravid used to keep as well as bat, but there is no need for him to keep the wickets, they have found almost a good substitute in the form of Dhoni - a blaster.

  • The outlook of our players has undergone a shift in the recent past. The fight is now more important, result is not. This orientation would help any team going a long way. For example, Australia worked hard for some time and now the results are shown. Beating each and every match in the world cup and being on the top of world, they have bought results from their sheer determination. I feel India is moving in the right direction and will be a good team to watch for in the 2007 world cup.

Small incidents like Sachin getting out for petty scores in last few matches should mask their talent to produce when others have given away. The performance of the team should be considered as a whole to determine the state of Indian cricket and we also need to change our mindset - we cant expect it to win all matches all the times. Winning and losing are both part of a game. At the end of the day, better team wins.

Posted By: winner

  • Present state of Indian cricket team is very good and there are both good bowlers as well as batsman. Now our team has become one of the best! But they have to work more to attain great destinations.

Posted By: BINNY

  • I think INDIAN team was considered to be one of the best in the world with lot of consistency. Now the present team has lot of instability. The condition is like a SEESAW, when bowlers do well, the batsman's do a poor performance. When the batsman's do a good job means the bowlers will do a poor performance. This way it has become difficult to predict the chances of winning...

Posted By: faraz

  • Well yes to some extent I believe the Indian team is good enough to face any sort of opposition, but the young bowlers are very much inexperienced and need to be groomed and picked accordingly. Another area of concern is the fielding of most players! The players need to be very fast and fit, and I think in present cricket scenario fielding is playing a major role in deciding the winner!!

Management Education-Is it necessary to succeed in business

  • Rating: Unrated

Posted By: Tan

  • I don’t think so. It is like degree to get into some company. But to start a business we need right attitude and hard-working capability and positive thinking and proactive ness.

  • There are many great businessmen in our country and i think no one did any management degree.

Posted By: faraz

  • Yes, to some extent I agree with cishaw, but you just can't say there were visionaries who have no degrees and therefore you don't need mgmt education! There is a difference. I believe management education is very important for entrepreneurs as it gives the total perspective and in this rat-and -mouse chase, strategies and goal plans can be framed if you have that ability which is most possibly groomed by your management education.

  • With the dawn of 21st century you can witness an increasing number of people joining business schools and competing against one another, the astuteness or shrewdness may be in built in some, but mostly can be made only by B-schools! Be it IIM"s, or FMS, management education is here to stay!!You should first differentiate managers from entrepreneurs to get your facts right!!!!!

I feel that managerial skills are something which inborn to a person. I think it’s nothing of a good management institute to generate any genius but genius joins good management institutes. I don’t feel a mere MBA could make a person a right manager. His decision making skills his problem solving capability and enduring the ill circumstances with brave and bold mind.

I would like to depict certain examples, the reliance group developer and patron Dhirubai Ambani was not a MBA, his will power his wise actions built a empire, but his both the sons were MBA and they destroyed the empire and shattered it into two.

So I feel the management institutes are not the sole producer of the right managers but the circumstances and experiences make the man

Posted By: ssrkraju

  • Managerial Education is it required? Before I take stand I would like to describe its goals. It introduces a student with managerial concepts that have been laid by great personalities in that area. It gives a worldwide scenario to the graduates and opens the nutshell to show them how businesses work.

  • Its just like a window where we can see how people around the world manage their businesses all over, their strategies, their future plans, how they expand their markets, etc. They also teach they the financial terms and legal issues in dealing with things and formal communication with different customers, governments, etc. In brief it’s a tool for a businessperson.

  • Now, the point is does he require it for being a successful businessperson. If we consider Bill gates that quit his formal education to build his own territory has been successful beyond doubt. The Mumbai dabbawallas never has any business education but are following six sigma policies without their knowledge and are successful. I doubt whether Ramoji Rao have taken any formal managerial education when he started selling pickles all around the city and now his assets are a known fact.

  • Managerial education is about managing resources in a effective manner. Its for an individual to decide to have a managerial degree or not. If a novice wants to go for a business that has lot of innovative ideas and initiative, it’s a must to know the skills required and to be familiar with the business world around. It’s not a choice but a mandatory. If a person who is already having a few years of experience and wants to enhance his skills and expand his knowledge base can opt for education, MBA in this case.

· Success is never guaranteed; it doesn’t have a fixed recipe. It is an aspect, which deals with attitude, passion, and will power of individual as well as team. We do have a list of successful person because they are successful, we also do have a greater list of otherwise people. Success depends on applying your ideas either from education or experience in the right place, right time, and at the right context.

· Yes! I do agree that education gives a more probable direction to lead you way to success and it is then a matter of decision. The interesting part of this managerial education is that it deals with lot of practical approach and gives a better perspective. So, I would like to conclude that it purely depends on the individual to take education or not and his application of his knowledge would only lead to either success or failure and external factors also do have a role to play.

Hi Chistina,

  • I would like to mention a point here; Reliance has been divided into two that doesn’t imply that they have destroyed anything. They are indeed taking the new divided empire to new heights. If you see the faith people put in these two chaps, Reliance broke all the records on 11th March 2006 for pumping in huge money in the form of Mutual funds.

  • Reliance mobiles can be seen as a huge success and in the oil sector they are still the undisputed leaders with 9% market share and the rest non-PSU's nowhere near. According to The Financial Times today, they do four times the business at an outlet level compared to PSU's. They are just nourishing the empire built by their father Dhirubhai, if the expectations are any indication, they are going to rule over a long future in the sectors and their base is also going to increase.

Public sector being a guarantor of job security is a myth

  • Rating: Unrated

Posted By: BINNY

  • I think it is not a myth. It is fact that the "Public sector is a guarantor of job security”. As the increase of public sectors has lead to competantancy between the Government and Private Sectors. This is a good sign for increase in JOB opportunities.

Posted By: sowmya571

  • Well now the scenario is other way round. Many people are shifting to Private sectors since.

  • Good salary

  • FLEXIBLE

  • Good growths
so better to analyze the features before entering

Posted By: ssrkraju

  • Is public sector a guarantor of job is a myth? No! Public sector is a guarantor of job. Consider for example, do you see your parents or your friend’s parents moving out of public sector of shifting jobs frequently. No! Anyone who joined in earlier days never thought of shifting of job even they are baffled to see the present generation moving from one job to another.

  • There was lot of emotional touch with the job itself and they were very content with the job at hand. This led to the feeling from the other side also, even though the employer may not be so productive but is loyal. The key term over here is loyalty. We see the average years an employee works in an public sector would be staggering 20-30 years where as in today's IT industry it is far low at 2-5 years.

  • Public sector has always been a non-profit organization in most of the situations and has never thrown out people as the private organizations do which strive for profits. They always have surplus of employees and they never feel the crunch and the work pressure will also be very less compared to other sectors. But the generation has changed, they still remain job guarantors but the younger generation is not attracted to it any longer.

  • If recent IIM campus is any indication, seven PSU's have returned empty handed unable to beat the competition with MNC's in offering higher salaries. The main reasons quoted were not only salaries but the challenges are also limited given the lack of freedom. The ideas do take a long process to come into action.

Public sector like banking and other administrative jobs are still favorites of many but the growth potential along with performance is still a barrier to be crossed in PSU's.

Is china a threat to Indian industry?

  • Rating: Unrated

Posted By: aayushkaistha

  • No, I don’t think china is a threat to Indian industry. This is because, it is now a well-known fact that the products and services provided by china are much cheaper than any other country but at the same time they are much inferior to quality as compared to countries like India.

  • Also, statistics confirm that India is the fastest growing industry and will definitely overtake china by 2010.Therefore, the fact remains that it is rather India

that poses a threat to the china's industry rather than the reverse.

Posted By: meera

  • Yes I believe that we have to compete a lot to overcome the threat of china to Indian industry. Their hardware, software & telecom were much bigger than India’s. They have huge captive in this domestic market as compared to India. It is estimated that Chinese domestic market is four times that of India.

  • But these Chinese markets were currently dominated by MNC's. This provides an excellent opportunity for Indian firm to overcome the threat imposed by china.

Posted By: ssrkraju

  • Before I start off, I would like to clear a point made by Aayushkaistha above, China's economy is increasing by leaps and bounds. Even by 2050, China is going to lead India and is going to become a Global leader whereas India will be trailing alongside America. China is definitely a threat to India.

  • I would like to illustrate with a small example, China plans for Olympics, which is about to begin 8 years from now. It nourishes talent in a long run and the tally in any international arena would prove it. Coming to India, the recently concluded Common Wealth Games, out of 22 Gold medals, 16 were won in a single event shooting, among it 5 were picked by an individual. Rathore's silver medal, Karanam bronze medal in Olympics in the past two Olympics do say a lot about our planning.

  • Yes! I do agree Chinese goods are cheaper, they may lack in quality, but they do have a market here. They are lot of middle class and lower-middle class people who cant afford to quality goods and do satisfy themselves with these goods and are happy about it. They don’t need ISO certifications for their children's toys and petty things like that.

  • They have taken Indian market by waves. It’s a fact that India is a leading country in manufacturing hardware and providing software solutions. But China is not far behind; they are also going for English as mandatory subject so they would overtake us in no more than 10 years from now. The rising salaries and costs are making the Giants to think of new places to save cost. It is not far away a day where China would be having a bigger piece of cake.

What shall we do about our ever-increasing Population?

  • Rating: Unrated

Posted By: faraz

  • Well India with a ever-increasing population is a cause of concern right from its existence! But, with more self-help groups and better living conditions and increasing importance to girl child this is turning into an asset for India.

  • HUMAN CAPITAL as it is called is growing into a very useful tool for India, right from cheap manpower to neutral accent for BPO’s, indians ever-increasing population may soon be turned down as not such a serious problem as it used to be with the GROWING education concern all over the country!

  • I believe at this time we should concentrate on more of educational institutions and better awareness in health and mailto:hygiene! @! And - hygiene! @! And spend more on it on par with defense and army!!!!

Posted By: ssrkraju

  • I would like to start with small statistics, India is seven times more popular than America, but has its population, which is seven times that of America. That would underline how intense is Indian population. The view of it as an asset or liability is not of concern here. The steps we can take to reduce the growth in population are of concern here.

  • In the initial days, the no. of children were more and the existing population was of not concern. But now even two or three children is adding to increasing population. Why? The reason is the increased number of couples. The younger generation population is now at an all time high.

  • To combat the population, we need to have massive campaigns and education among masses regarding family control. The quote that "Children are god's gift" should be misinterpreted. Everyone on earth would agree on it, but that doesn’t imply that we give birth to him or her and let him or her starve. It’s a logical issue as well an emotional one. We need to deal it carefully. We need to take help from local agencies, local heads, and it should be a home-to-home campaign as election. When we can spend on election a lot, we too can afford to spend on these issues. Education would go a long way in dealing with this situation.

  • The initiative of government to deprive people from government services having more than two people is applauded but should be followed in true spirit. The essence of these policies should be dealt at detail to all concerned and the problems that may arise out of huge population should be dealt with region wise. The educated youth can also play a role in its own way. The huge rallies carried out for no reason should be avoided and few could be directed to a worthy cause like this.

Posted By: ssrkraju

  • This is not a group discussion topic even then I would like to contribute something over here.

  • Early Morning, this reminds me of a great comedian who said; every morning we have an option "Either we can be happy or we can be sad". I agree with him no one can make up happy or sad without our consent. It is purely our perspective that we see happiness in things or events.

  • For example, we hear of a person being killed somewhere, we are concerned about him and we feel sad even if we don’t know him. Yes! That’s humanity but we need to judge our "area of concern" and "area of influence" rightly described by Stephen Covey in his book "The seven habits of effective people".

  • We need to be proactive and we need to live every moment as said in a lighter vein in a Hindi film known to all "Kaho naa pyaar hai", "Ek pal ka jeena phir tho hai jana...” Do take things as they come and any blame-game would take you anywhere. If you share love and friendship, you will always get it in return may little delayed.

  • Like any work done would give its fruits, you will reap your harvest as per your hard work. Live life to the fullest and see happiness in everything and do see that at the end of the day we don’t have any regrets again in a lighter vein "Kal ho na ho".

  • The topic is very old! Yet my first group discussion was on similar lines. It was "One Billion, One Silver". Yes! Both refer to Olympics; India's dismal performance in Olympics again and again is the reason for this sentences/phrases. The bronze medal quoted over here is for weight lifting competition which Karanam Maleshwari got the third prize.

  • When India has more than one billion of population, why is India lagging? Does it lack talent? No. It is lack of proper planning, execution, and the corruption at every level that is taking away better opportunities from India in getting n no. Of medals. I would like to give a small example over here, if you remember our long jump champion Anju Boby George in the last Olympics who contained billion hopes on her but couldn’t make it to last six.

  • If you would put some detailed look into it, all the three winners were Russians; they jumped in excess of seven meters whereas our Anju could hardly make it to 6.7 m. There is a striking difference. We had a star we nurtured her, expected her to do some miracles, she couldn't we cursed and then we forgot.

  • What did Russia do then, or for that matter what did China do? They planned for a long term. They tap talent from their early age and put them under right direction. They do have necessary infrastructure from school level, district level, state level where they are trained under the guidance of senior players. The situation in India is as follows: we have schools in every two-three streets in a small building with computer classes from nursery but we don’t have a play ground. How many schools are there around us who provide cricket grounds or even a badminton ground. It’s a matter of concern and we need to take a deeper look at it.

  • We can do some things to improve the situation. The mindset of people has to change and sports has to be taken as a career but not as a secondary option. Massive support has to be given by government to encourage sports person and facilities have to be made available to all deserved people. For god's sake there should be no reservations in this area. As government has taken initiatives like Jawahar Knowledge Centers to enable women in IT industry. We need to have Sports Centers all over the districts and sports need to make mandatory in all levels of education as in CBSE schools (Kendriya Vidyalaya).

Posted By: Anusha_j

A country with 100 crore-population getting only one bronze looks absurd. The individual in not to be blamed always. One will try to do the best as it not only brings the fame to country but the individual will b honored. But it is the problem in planning or coaching or who so ever people playing role on the back of the screen.

Even the government does corruption and selected the recommended and paid ones most of the times. Unless this trend changes and the really talented are given opportunity, the situation like this will persist.

As raju said, the children should be allowed to play from the childhood by providing necessary facilities. Encouraging them is necessary.

If everyone starts thinking that its a trap then our culture will be lost one day and we will start believing in live-in relationships, which i my not good for the society.

Is Sonia's resignation a sacrifice?

Gandhi resigned as MP and NAC chief on Thursday. That resignation took place only after they have been exposed. The party has received a first attack when Jaya bachchan had been disqualifed. According to me, that is not a sacrifice.

If she did this before, we can consider it as a sacrifice. But all happened when her attempts to be against law gone useless and after she came to know that the President would not sign an ordinance to bail her out of the office of profit controversy.

She resigned to be on the safer side. Before she is caught, she resigned and all r telling it as a sacrifice. She knows that if she continues to be in that seat, Congress would face the danger.

As Advani said, her resignation is "not a sacrifice but a compulsion, not morality but drama."

  • Sonia's resignation is depicted as a sacrifice in the lines of her rejection to highest coveted post of Prime Minister two years ago. I would like to mention that the conditions in May 2004 and March 2006 are very different and needs a deeper look to distinguish both.

  • In May 2004 when Congress was elected to lead the country, she although not born in India, had an Indian citizenship. She became a Member of Parliament, which implied that she was in all respects eligible for the post of Prime Minister.

  • Then came her rejection on basis of her inner voice. It was a personal decision as hailed by party cadre. It was a sacrifice, to gain more political mileage and given that the post would go to a well deserved Finance Minister Manmohan Singh who drove Indian economy with his bold decisions in late 80's.

  • Coming to Sonia's resignation in March 2006. Let's first consider the circumstances where she resigned. It all started with the term "Office of Profit" which is not defined in our Indian Constitution. Not holding any profitable office under government is one of the eligible criteria for an Individual to contest for the post of Member of Parliament.

  • The Jaya Bachan case, she was holding a post of UP film development chairman, which is an office of profit and Supreme Court, has ordered her withdrawal of her candidature as MP. If Sonia has resigned after Jaya went out of Parliament would have been a sacrifice. Instead they waited.

  • The actual purpose of ordinance is that when the parliament is not in session and any emergency situation to bring in a bill can be brought through ordinance, which requires President's approval. Congress tried to bring an ordinance by stalling the proceedings of the Parliament, which is unethical. Next as the media played its role of bringing the consequences to light.

  • The indications from Rastrapati Bhavan not in favor of Congress led to the resignation of Sonia. This is not at all a Sacrifice and is just a face-saving measure, which came at wrong time. The moral responsibility is not adhered to as she also said that she is going to contest again. Rather she should have left politics. Now, her victory from Rae Bareli is anyway confirmed and the ordinance will pull the NAC post from office of profit. Now, Sonia will again have her MP post as well as NAC post will a small gap. Is there anything she is losing?

Russia's offer to India in nuclear deal - How is it going to affect South Asia's stability?

  • All has known indo-US nuclear deal. Now, India is not a NPT country but is a special consideration in the eyes of the world. Given its history, it’s an exception. Russia's offer to India to supply nuclear fuel is a great achievement, the offer is for those 12 nuclear stations which would be under world preview once the deal gets materialized and everything gets streamlined.

  • If we once consider Russian foreign policy, it supplies fuel for NPT countries to which India is an exception. This shows the special place India has attained in the recent past. Now, they are coming to terms with India, now India is powerful, strong and an independent nation in terms of its foreign policy.

  • Given Russia's friendship with India and growing Indian status, the South Asia's stability is under question. Pakistan, which tested its nuclear capability within weeks along side India, is a clear indication that it is not far behind. It being a close ally to US in anti-terrorism could have a strong ground in international arena. It couldn’t get any deal from its Uncle Sam it now looks at China for help.

  • It looks as if the arms race is still going to continue just to match each other as hackers do have a fight with developers. The deal which India is about to clinch allows it to have fuel for its reactors from International market can go a long way in developing India with a minimum usage of fossil fuels like oil and gas for generating power.

  • India is not a threat - it’s a universal fact but need to be ready to face any attack from any country around it. That's the only reason why our nuclear weapons are always on alert state. Mutual faith is the only answer to the prevailing situation.

IWF being banned from commonwealth games - shame on India - what can be done?

· The Commonwealth is a unique family of developed and developing nations, a voluntary association of independent sovereign states spread over every continent and ocean. From Africa to Asia, from Pacific shores to the Caribbean, the Commonwealth's 1.7 billion people make up 30% of the world's population and are of many faiths, races, languages and cultures.

· CGF vision is to promote friendly, world-class games and to develop the sport and strengthen the commonwealth. Africa, America, Asia, Caribbean, Europe and Oceania are all participating in the commonwealth.

· In this great game, which is considered to be next to the Olympics, India faced a ban up to four years in weightlifting competitions, after it was confirmed that both the "A" and "B" samples of two lifters returned positive in the 18th Commonwealth Games.

· Indian Weightlifting Federation has been banned for the second time within seven months of a one-year suspension period and its disappointed officials are not able to explain the utter humiliation. This is a great shame for INDIA. Whole world will not talk about our third position in the final list.

· All will speak about the second time ban. Games are conducted to develop the spirit and relation between the countries. It is not for getting the prizes. Participation plays a major role. All should not aim at only prizes and all should not aim for the honour. Since all aim only at those things, the result is negative. All the players should set an example for others. They should not be a hot topic to be discussed happily by all. They should not give a place for other countries to gossip in this matter.

· ALL THE PLAYERS SHOULD HAVE SELF-CONTROL.THEY SHOULD ONLY THINK ABOUT PARTICIPATING AND THEY HSOULD NOT THINK ABOUT THESE DRUGS AND ALL.EVEN AFTER THEY KNOW THAT THEY WILL BE CAUGHT AS A RESULT OF THE TEST, I DONOT KNOW WHY THEY ARE ATTEMPTING THIS.SOWE CANNOT TAKE ANY MEASURES TO STOP THEM.EACH INDIVIDUAL SHOULD THINK ABOUT THEIR COUNTRY'S PRESTIGE AND SHOULD ACT ACCORDING TO THAT.THIS IS NOT ONLY A SHAME FOR THEM.IT IS A SHAME FOR WHOLE INDIA.

Hai rena,

· You are right. But there may be some reasons for those types of things, which happened in IWF. We cannot blame the person who participated in that.

· Can any body that know about the fire will keep his hand in it. Even though some will come and join in hospital saying they had undergone burns. Hope you got my opinion.

  • Indian Weight-lifting Federation being banned within seven months of its existence for a span of one year do have a lot to speak about our sports in Common Wealth games. Let me make few points clear at the outset. Every player representing a country should be tested before entering the games, which is mandatory. Now, depending on suspicion or a random pick, testing is done on the players for which the authority is authorized to.

  • Given the fact that sports do challenge physical limits of the sportsperson. The performance-enhancing drugs do help the players to get an extra-benefit among others. The players do know the medicines/food items to be avoided in the form of booklets provided to them. Then why do such events take place?

  • The reason could be, one, government spends lot of money in training the players and coaches have tough time to retain their jobs. They do encourage players to have the drugs for better performance and their testing is not a guaranteed factor, which is a risk factor. They do take risk putting the country as well as the event in bad light.

  • Two, the players themselves for want of recognition, fame, and other benefits or just for another opportunity to go further in life. This situation occurs when they don’t have enough confidence in them to face the reality and do give up.

  • Three, the rare case of consuming this unknowingly. I call this as a rare case as they do know their diet and someone cannot forcibly make them take this without their consent.

  • To save from any future mishappenings, we should take all precautionary measures. They could include, a written statement from the player that he would not resort to any such mis-deeds and would report to concerned authority if forced by coaches. The players should be encouraged to be sportive (they should be). Medals should be given utmost importance, performance should be, let the results follow. Even for a one-day cricket match, players do have a net practice for hours, even having years of experience. Results do come when we give our best.

  • That’s really sad part in our great success in common wealth games. We have to be more careful and try to be more honest rather than cheating by taking steroids.

  • We have to take precautions. And they have to keep in mind that they are representing their country. If there is any loss its not a personal loss but a loss to the whole nation. We have to bend our heads in shame.

  • No individual will take steroids or whatever which enhance his/her physical strenght.but there might be some pressure from coach, or personal issues or may be the govt. These all lead to taking drugs/steroids.
